Farren Ray

It doesn't really hurt our chances at all. Depending on who wants him (no-one) they still have to pick him up in the draft before someone else does. If they risk him going to the draft they can't be sure than another club won't pick him up first.

The problem is that Ray is not a player gauranteed to be in your best 22 therefore is a depth player. His value is minimal anyway and if someone really wants him they will do a trade so as not to risk missing him in the draft. If he goes to the draft it says alot about his ability.

Ricky O was just trying to get the best price for Farren. The more teams know he's leaving at any costs the more teams come sniffing around trying to get the best bargain basement price. They aren't going to be throwing 2nd rounders around if they know he'll leave for much less. Ray/Olarenshaw could even be given the choice of contracts come PSD time(Name your own price!). More money for Ricky to spend on his facial care.

2) Unless the Eagles can get something better than pick 36 for Seaby AND they are feeling generous than I cant see Bullies getting any better than pick 36. Ray's kicking lackes penetration and despite having 4/5 seasons in system hasnt improved - and probably never will.

I think the Bulldogs & West Coast have probably built up the best of the trading relationships over the past few seasons. Can't see either looking to bend the other over.

Exactly. With our current list i think we will give you Pick 36 anyway unless we delist some more players like Fletcher. Whether you get a pick for Ray will depend solely on who else we get rid off.

I believe draft picks will be used .. if there is a slightest probaility that we might consider taking Cousins back via PSD..

Will be interesting to see what kind of deal will be settled on (especially given Dees aren't taking him in the PSD)

Olarenshaw is clearly running scared, just threating the Dogs into making a deal so Farren won't be at the Dogs next year, even so, apart from West Coast, i believe another WA team and maybe 1 or 2 Vic clubs are luke warm on Farren, worst comes to the worst, will most likely recieve a later pick or a swap over with one of those clubs.

He won't fall into the PSD.

hmm its good having a good realation ship with west coast coz lately (im not bagging u's or anything) they they have been near the bottom with good draft picks and i like west coast, second fav team

I agree with eagles position - they have a history of dealing upfront and aboveboard. I know they were pi**ed off last year with what went on with Blues and Judd and wont stoop to those levels. Blues however think that its normal behavior and are trying it again.

I think Olarenshaw has performed poorly over the last few weeks, and I also believe it has been a ploy of his to increase the value of Ray when saying that staying in Melbourne is his preferred option, or play in another state with more opportunities instead of going home to WA. I'd be very surprised if he doesn't end up at home.

Whether or not Olarenshaw claiming that Ray staying at the Bulldogs is not an option was a ploy to once again increase his opportunities to move elsewhere to a number of clubs is anyones guess. But if it was I think it was a "massive error of judgement", playing into the hands of West Coast.

IMO Olarenshaw is going to become one of the sleaziest managers the game has seen. The whole Ray situation is a bit off to me.

If someone comes along late on tomorrow & offers a 4th round pick then we well may have to cut our losses & accept that.

Totally agree. Wouldnt be ideal but certaily better than nothing. Maybe even upgrade a pick of our slightly. eg ray and 32 for pick 24-28

There has been absolutely no interest in Farren at all this week.

He may well have received poor managerial advice. I guess time will tell.

It's funny how much AFL clubs know about eachother, they find out about injuries and player availability all the time during the lead up to games, why should trading be any different. If my paranoia is serving me well enough ;) then it would suggest that they all know he is heading home one way or another.

If we could get a 4th round pick then we should take it.

Given our trading history, I wouldn't be surprised to see WCE throw in a 4th rounder as well as a sweetener, considering you guys probably wont be using it. Looks like 2nd rounder is a pipe-dream: only other scenario is a straight player swap with the Blues it seems.

But now Fazza has added another hurdle by saying he does not want to go back to Perth.

That would be his problem, not ours. Just like Jade Rawlings didnt want to come to the Bulldogs but had no choice. Send him to where ever we get the best deal from, be it, Eagles, Port, Carlton whoever.

I dont really give a Shit where he ends up, as long as the club doesnt loose out. Him threatening the club that he will go into the PSD and we get nothing........................well screw him and Olarenhsaw. He's a dud manager and a dud Boundary Rider. What a tool!:(

This is what happens when you s**t where you eat Farren - even birds don't do that.
