I wouldn't worry about getting Ray. Bulldogs won't be dealing with StKilda unless the trade is to good to refuse. That's all I'll say.

Ahh too good to refuse Butane? I think we paid a heavy price to get a second rounder.

Guess I was wrong.

Last night we had almost resigned to losing Ray for nothing. You guys got a good deal out of that, better then anything you would have picked up at 31 anyway.

Kicking is a concern, but we desperately need outside carry (the Dogs don't). The coaches were always going to try and rectify the deficiency, and I've got no problems at all with moving our pick from 31 to 48 for the Ray-Gun.

Bets of luck, I am delighted he is gone.

Woeful foot skills and I also think he is a pea heart.

I have never, ever seen him win a contested ball and he is a perpetual disapointment.

Not that good either. Very unhappy with this trade. I'll be yelling at Ray from the stands. It made Raph Clarke come good, maybe I'll be doing the boy a favour.

I've been a fan of Ray for a while and reckon he'll really kick on with a change of club. He was looking good this pre-season but sustained an injury at the wrong time and that ruined his season.

For those interested, he is a light winger with decent pace and evasive ability, a very good overhead mark and contrary to popular opinion, heart. He has been known to back into marking contests, and has also played tagging roles to varying effect. Often gets the ball in the right spots, but his disposal and decision-making can be suspect at times.

Is what you would call an 80 metre player, run it 30 and kick it 50. Is very fit and is equally skilled on both feet. Bulldogs supporters have been dissapointed by his disposal in the past, running into goal from 50 will see him convert about 20% of the time, so he is frustrating in a sense and thus became the Bigfooty's boards whipping boy (Something I don't entirely agree with because he does do some good stuff).

Really its a good trade, you just downgrade a pick while we effectively trade him by himself for pick 31, as we won't be using more than 3 picks in the draft. A win-win.

Ja, I think St Kilda are winning on this trade - he has super endurance and is a genuine run & carry midfielder/HBF. We had no choice considering we'd otherwise lose him for nothing.

Comparisons with Fiora are unfair - Ray is much better. His disposal isn't great, and gets worse the more pressure he is under; however seeing as St Kilda actually have tall forwards, this is likely to be less exposed than it was with us.

May possibly kick on at StKilda as the boy does have some talent, but was seriously stagnating at the dogs. We have similar players with more talent and heart showing it more consistently. Good luck to him...

But if he turns into your next Fiora, then serves you right for screwing us on the Ayce deal

Maybe we can trade you Farren for Ayce now? :D
What is it with people naming their kids these days, or even 17-22 years ago ...

I guess the main positive about signing Farren Ray is that Fiora is probably less likely to get a game now, given that they are similar types of players. I think he definitely has more potential to be a good player for us than Fiora though, hopefully he can live up to it.

Of his 250 possessions, only 30 were contested though.

OK with that.

We had good contested ball winners - just not enough guys to carry it away from the contest!

What is the duration of Fiora's contract?
