Fasolo - ahead of Sidebottom?

Re: Fasolo ahead of Sidebottom

Sidebottom's a proven finals performer, steps up when it matters. Would be mad to leave him out after watching his grand final performances in 2010 and his game against Adelaide in 2009.

This, plus The Kid doesn't yet have the fitness to really impact four quarters.

I will say though, I think he's more talented than Sidey.

Re: Fasolo ahead of Sidebottom

I'm a big wrap for Fasolo too, but he is not ahead of the Man of Steele. Different players anyway: Steele an inside tough nut, who reads the play wonderfully; Fas is a silky finisher, who has good goal sense and kicks the footy beuatifully.

Re: Fasolo ahead of Sidebottom

An emphatic hell no!

Jarryd Blair was pretty much non-existent tonight though.

Such is the life of an opportunistic forward. Dominant 4 goal performance one week, quiet and ineffectual the next.

Fasolo didn't exactly set the house on fire himself tonight. I do like what he brings to the table, but I think as a HFFer (which he is) going into finals, Beams and Sidebottom have him covered. Blair as a small, buzzing FP who can chop out in the midfield beats him for a spot as well.

Came under plenty of notice for mine. Took that speccy in the 3rd, kicked a goal or 2 and was reasonably involved in the play. He's going to be a gem.

Re: Fasolo ahead of Sidebottom

I'd be more inclined to compare Fas with 'Caff.

I think Fas can hold his place because of his talent, but 'Caff needs a run and I would've thought 'Caff would have better fitness.

I'd be inclined to think 'Caff would come in for Krak - I'd doubt if Krak did his selection any favours in the last 5 minutes of tonights game.

He plays wider than anyone on the team. Unless by inside you mean "inside the ground", I'm genuinely confused.
You may be right mdc, but watching on TV as I do, he invariably seems to be in there winnning the hard ball. You might notice more when you see him play live. Granted he gets a lot of outside ball too, but that's just my impression of him.

Was going to bring this up. I actually think Fasolo plays a more inside game than Sidebottom if anything.

I can't get over how lethargic Sidebottom looks at times. It's ok when he pulls off his disposal but when he laconically shanks a kick out on the full it's really not a good look. He's made a significant amount of those types of errors this season.

.

No doubt in my opinion. He has no problem whatsoever retrieving the ball in traffic, goes in like a bull at a gate.
The great thing about it too is how well balanced he is, he dips his head in to pick up the contested ball and almost invariably comes out the other side with it having never lost his footing. Be it low centre of gravity or whatever - it works extremely well for him.

Re: Fasolo Ahead Of Sidebottom?

No

But I am looking forward to watching fozzy's career, he'll be something special this one.

Re: Fasolo ahead of Sidebottom

It shouldn't have gotten to the point to comapre Fas (as promising as he looks) to Sidebottom.

I'm really worried with Sidebottom's form as of late, and I really want to know the inside information about him because something is definetly wrong.

The last good game I saw him play might've been against Carlton when he kicked that amazing goal.

Re: Fasolo ahead of Sidebottom

the faz wont have the engine to have 4 good quarters in a final.. where as steele is one of our top tackles and possesion getters, plus very dangerous infront of goals and is the best runner at our club.

Fasolo will have a stellar 2012 though i reckon

Sidey had a shocker, he needs a week or two back in the seconds, we also need to drop Rounds.

A week or in the twos - Utter rubbish...Sidey was great against PA & Essendon...stop over reacting on one game.

As to TD op - TOTALLY NO WAY.

Sidey > daylight > more daylight > Fasolo

Fasolo has played 9 games FFS

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing much more to add, but N.O!

I am not having a crack at Steele or calling into question his manhood but everytime I thought "that person could have gone a bit harder" it was always ended up being Steele.

Didn't see him too "inside" tonight.
