Was really impressed with the Fas today, his first half I thought was superb although he did drop off in the second half (but so did we I guess). I can't see why people thought he would fail down back, he has all the attributes of a flanker; nice kick, great run, tough. Good time to trade him into my SC team :D

Just needs to get his fitness up and he will be an A grader

I never thought he could have this kind of impact down back this is his spot put Williams down back and we have a awesome future back 6

We will have a mighty defence when the likes of Williams, Seedsman, Sinclair and maybe Scharenberg come back into the side or in contention at the very least.

Bucks says Fasolo is tracking to play midfield in 18 months. I reckon he would be tracking ahead of schedule surely.
Fasolo should be an A-grader.

Our future midfield is going to be something to behold.

Fas is all class. He has all the tools to be elite; Strong Mark, Elite kicking, can run carry, Clean at ground level and has that X factor about him.

I think we sort of forgot how much talent this guy had because of his injury. I would like to see him down back against hawthorn or Freo to see if he can with stand the test, but he performed pretty good against Geelong, so i have confidence.

But our future backline stocks look awesome with the talent that can go through there;

Scharenberg, Fasolo, Seedsman and Williams all should be 10 year plus players for the club.

Please remind me why he has so much talent because of his foot injury? :p

Otherwise, I do believe our future backline will be amazing. I hope Fasolo pushes into the midle though.

We will have an embarrassment of riches in both defense and in the midfield. It's a great predicament to be in when what we need most is crumbers in the coming drafts.

His improvement in just three games down back is extremely impressive. Probably some of that comes down to improved match fitness, but I think Fasolo has shown that he is all class as he gets better with each outing and picks up the gig so quickly and easily.

I have to say I thought he was a natural forward and might struggle to adapt to the different requirements needed down back, but I think he is proof that a natural FOOTBALLER will often shine out over those who are more the athletes first, footballers second type. He is silk and provides us a real weapon either back or forward now. Kudos to Bucks and the coaches :thumbsu:

I remember Didak and Swan spent a bit of time in the back half in the VFL in their first couple of years at the club to learn the defensive side of the game before becoming midfielders. Not sure how much it worked! But either way, looks like they are doing the same with Fas. Guys with his disposal skills are suprisingly rare in the AFL these days so I'm looking forward to his next few years.

Guy might have a head the size of the Westpac centre.

But he can play.

All hail the Prince of Perth:cool:

FAS, can we think a future Andrew Mcloud slash Stevis J type of player going into the mid's.
What can this young man turn out to be???????????? Who know's.

Figer of speech for all the people who read things way to seriously. It just an example of what kind of player or players can he be, like bucks said he could be anything so with Mcleod's silky smooth skill's playing back, mid and can push fwd and snag a few like stevie j :-)

I didn't think he was cut out for it. But he just might be. He could be a weapon coming out of the backline like Leon was. He will get more attention now though.

That's fantastic! It means that attention will be taken away from Maxwell who will light up the stage with his electric agility and pinpoint passing!

Which poster on the Collingwood board first suggested that Fasolo should go into the backline about late 2013? I remember a few others jumped on the bandwagon, and at the time i never thought he would make the move, but somebody said it and they stuck by it and it ended up actually happening around about the time we played Richmond at Wang.

Knightmare has suggested it before I believe.
Given he is like the BF equivalent of Grays Sports Alamanac the man already knows what the future holds lol

October 25, 2012 was the first time I suggested it on here. Fas has always looked to me like he could do some damage from down back because he is a strong 1:1 body and he has the pace and delivery to really set up plays quickly.

All those claiming credit need to remember we have had Sinclair Sharenburg Williams and Seedsman all missing in action, not to mention some bloke called Shaw who used to play for us and did ok. Playing him back was by neccessity not by design, because he was a better option than Marty Clarke who played round one and didnt set the world on fire.

That said, I never had any problems with the concept of him going back...as I said a few weeks ago hes a tackling machine and a long accurate kick so getting back into senior footy in defence was always an option.
