Reading through these posts it makes me laugh that most tigers supporters are bringing up stats and hot times ran by players, most likely over a training session. Im pretty sure the thread is asking how fast the players move with the ball during game pressure! Not, who can just ran the fatsest over 100m!

All you had to do was go back 1 page:
Who do you think is the fastest AFL side in terms of running?
Fastest in the AFL in terms of running, not running with the ball, not running in zigzags, just running, providing stats like Kel Moore as a junior being able to run 100m in 11 seconds is perfectly viable in the argument that Richmond have the fastest list.

Funny how a couple of years ago Essendon were one of the slowest teams in the competition in terms of leg speed, and now are one of, if not the quickest team in the competition. Now if only speed got you instant premierships... ;)

I think people are over rating the dogs speed - yes we have a couple of jets in griffen, murphy, cooney (had ray who was pretty quick) and a couple of others. but I wouldn't say we're the quickest maybe around 5th or 6th. I'd vote Richmond or Essendon - hard to split.

Well maybe Jamacia should enter a team and put Asaffa Powell and Usain Bolt in the side, then they would be the fastest side!!

What about who are the strongest team, the smartest team, the lightest team. How would that be interpreted?

Why would you want to know the answer to sonething that is documented on paper with time trials? Its a much more interesting topic to discuss while it was game time pressure. Dont you think? It seems to be a no brainer if you know all the records and stats.

It's the simplest way to answer the question, what don't you get, guessing which team is the fastest on field with a ball in their hand is not concrete and after all will just be an estimation and pure guess, at least with the proper records and stats it can be a more solid(and truthful) answer to the OP's question.

So then this is not debatable at all!
Richmond has the quickest list, right? So, Richmond is the fastest team.
So no-one here can dispute that. In my world that would be a NO BRAINER! Find the fastest times per team and compare them to others.
The internet is a handy thing of knowledge, just ask the Google machine!

The only completely accurate way to measure this would be to have all players on the list run 100m, then average the times out and see who is quickest.

I voted for Richmond, I reckon they're average would be highest. I'd have Essendon second, and I also believe that Essendon have the fastest single player in Andrew Lovett.

I'm suprised that the Dogs are in the third, I honestly don't rate them very highly in terms of sheer foot speed.
