Can anyone out there, tell me who might be coming through under the current Father/Son rules for the AFC, in the next 2 to 3 years?
Cheers for your feedback...

Tell us a bit about him.

I think that Gallagher lad from Sturt is eligable as his father Phil played 200 odd games with the Redlegs.

I think the Crows need to gamble more on sons of past greats, not necessarily just those who have played for the AFC, but past SANFL greats or even those from interstate leagues. More often than not their offspring turn out to be better than average players. The only one I can think of who's played for Adelaide is Matthew Robran.

I have personally seen the development of Bryce at close rang i have been umpiring since he first started playing junior footy! This kid has talent will end up much taller than his father, has been playing in the Ruck for the bays under 17s, plays club footy for Plymton on sundays and dominated for a year or two when first started but clubs worked out how to negate him in the past few years, good skills on both side of body and is a good grab! Now all we need to do is get is father out of his ear, the guy is a knob, bryce is a good kid though, just his father is a bad influence!

Still eligible for under 15s though so will have to wait a while yet to draft him

Thanks RooDog. Much appreciated.

Hopefully he gets to be an excellent ruck prospect and we get him with the father/son pick.

Well we tried to get Heath James (father/son eligible for AFC, PAFC and SFC) but he chose Sydney.

We also would've been able to get both Cornes bros. had Graham been allowed to coach one more year. Ironically as we know they were both drafted by Port.

Can't think of too many others we could've got under the new eligibility rules - there was of course no way in hell Brett Ebert would've chosen us.

dont think he will be a Ruckamn Stiffy more likely to be a tall midfielders or KPP rather than a ruckman, could see him slotting in nicely at Centre Half Forward or Centre Half Forward with Ferg sitting down at full forward

A couple of years back, the AFL and SANFL divided up all SANFL clubs, so that those "legends" son's would qualify for either the AFC or PPFC in the AFL. ( I think) ie: Sturt, Glenelg, Norwood, West and WWT 250 game players are allocated to the AFC and Port Adelaide, North Adelaide, Centrals and South are allocated to PPFC.

Yeah, wrong.

Power considering Brett Ebert

<snip>

Brett is eligible to play for the Power because Russell played more than 200 games for the club in the SANFL. The Power can choose sons of players who played more than 200 games at either Port Adelaide, Central District, North Adelaide, West Adelaide or the Eagles (Woodville or West Torrens).

jeeezus, youve got to be joking!!!

you think that just because you were red, gold & blue, every south australian footballer is eligible for the crows?

fact is, you guys should get no-one - simply because there are no "fathers" who played in eras gone by for the adelaide crows.

wait a few more years & you may get someone like a bickley/georgina love child.

Heard that you had a threesome with your own mother and a horse.

You deadset uberw@nker.

I was under the impression - and have since been corrected - that both the PAFC and AFC had access to all sons of players who had played a requisite number of SANFL games and could then woo these sons as best they could a la the Heath James situation a few years ago.

if im an "uberw@nker", im afraid that i dont know what that makes you, although, you being a crows supporter gives me a fair idea.

for ebert to have ever considered playing for the crows is the richest thing i have ever heard.

were not talking about mere port players like johncock or mcleod here.
