Well f/s works like the academy where you get a discount on matching the points.
They are looking at changing the rules this year so you can't trade down and increase points, will be interesting

I think our reasoning to drafting him would be similar to the Jackson Merrett pick-up by Essendon.

By getting him to the club it is insurance in getting Burton to stay. Then if Jarman turns out to be a good player its win-win.

You'd have to be pretty bloody good to go top 30 as a goal kicking small forward though wouldn't you? Draft wise it's an undervalued position. A large proportion of the best small forwards of the last ten years have come from the rookie draft.

Undervalued in general. Teams seem to think they can just fill the small forward position with undersized mids who fail to make an impact in the midfield.

Can you imagine teams applying the same line of thinking to key forward roles? Blokes at 197cm passed over in the draft because they're "not tall enough to ruck". Then failed ruckman being put at FF and CHF as the primary option.

He's not going to be deslisted. He's developing very nicely and performing quite well for Adelaide in the SANFL.
