I know everyone is focussed on the u18s, but for anyone interested we have an absolute ripper coming through at u16 level.
Croft's boy, tall forward. Mofra's spies are reporting we should be excited. Same source says Daicos is a lock for pick 1 and Sam Darcy lacks a little footspeed but is otherwise brilliant (by the description, think of Jordan Roughead as a defender). Ruck height but his future at AFL level is as a KPD.

Perfect, if there's one thing we're lacking it's high potential young tall forwards.

Another father-son Dog rising, Darcy enters top-20 calculations
The Western Bulldogs' run of talent looks set to extend again at this year's NAB AFL Draft

THE WESTERN Bulldogs' run of talent looks set to extend again at this year's NAB AFL Draft, with father-son prospect Sam Darcy impressing in the early stages of the season.
The son of former captain and current club director Luke Darcy has some scouts viewing him as a possible top-20 talent after a promising start to the NAB League season.
Darcy, who trained with the Bulldogs over summer as part of the club's father-son program, is also a ruckman, having measured in at 203cm earlier this year.

A foot injury saw his start to this season delayed but he played in the Oakleigh Chargers' round three game against Eastern Ranges and collected 13 disposals on debut. He backed it up with a more eye-catching showing in round four, when the 17-year-old had 21 disposals, nine marks and three clearances in the Chargers' win over the Western Jets.
Although still lightly framed, it is Darcy's ability to move around the ground and impact the play that has recruiters most bullish about his draft credentials. He has returned to play at school level during the NAB League season's pause.
ARCHER, SILVAGNI, LOCKETT Famous names galore in '21 draft class
The Dogs will get first access to Darcy under the father-son rule, with Luke playing 226 games and booting 183 goals for the club in his career from 1994-2007.

Sam Darcy would be a third generation addition to the club under the father-son rule, with Luke joining the Bulldogs under the same rule after his father David played 133 games for Footscray.
Few clubs have benefited from the father-son rule as prominently as the Bulldogs, who currently have Mitch Wallis, Lachie Hunter, Tom Liberatore, Rhylee West and Zaine Cordy all as father-son selections at the club.

The Dogs also claimed Jamarra Ugle-Hagan with the No.1 pick at last year's NAB AFL Draft as a Next Generation Academy selection, which will not happen again after the AFL brought in new rules that disallow clubs from matching bids on NGA players within the top-20 picks this year and top-40 next year.

Sam Darcy coming in will allow us to play Marra in his natural half back role.

Seriously though, Mofra I'm sure Crofty had twin boys. Is just one twin into footy, or is this an older son?

Edit: just searched it up, older girl then twin boys - Mitchell and Jordan. Are they both footballers? Could we have twin Crofts and twin Wests? Surely the AFL would step in with a "no more Bulldogs twins" rule!

Would Sam be our first 3rd generation Dog if he does get to us?

In a way but both Allan Edwards and Talia have a longer family association with the club

Frank Aked Snr 1925-32

Frank Aked Jnr (son) 1951-52

Arthur Edwards (son inlaw to Frank Jnr) 1951-60

Allan Edwards (grandson to Frank Jnr, great grandson to Frank Snr)

Arthur Stevens 1927-32

Harvey Stevens (son) 1953-57

Michael Talia (grandson to Harvey, great grandson to Arthur) 2012-15

Spargos are up to 4 generations, but only the first 2 generations played with us:
Bob Spargo snr - 1930s and 1940s (65 games for us and 2 for Melb)
Bob's sons Bob Jnr and Ricky - 1960s
Paul (son of Bob Jnr) - North and Brisbane
Charlie - son of Paul, currently at Melbourne

Edit: interesting that all bar Charlie failed to get to 100 games (although father/son used to be 50 games to qualify for many decades), but all played more than 50.

After suffering for 30+ years without ever having two genuine KPFs I'm enjoying this Twilight Zone series.
He probably won't even be in a position to debut until after Josh Bruce retires. Marra and Naughton are so quick on the deck they certainly don't make us 'top heavy', and if he's anything like his dad he can play anywhere (Matty debuted on a wing and was a gun forward or back).

Didn't Scott have a brother Troy as well? Either way this info came out of the blue so was nice to hear on a Monday morning. Same source loves Daicos (has him at no 1, ahead of Horne) and was spruiking Sam Darcy before the media picked it up

Pretty sure Troy West is Scott’s older brother (not twin) and played for Williamstown for ages. Scott does have a twin brother but didn’t play at a high level

Jordan Croft is the gun footballer. I don’t think Mitchell is playing football this year.

Thanks weltschmerz and stevieg1969

So Jordan Croft is taking all the limelight, while we hide Mitchell Croft and Cooper and Cobi West away, then spring a surprise later in the year when they all nominate for the draft, no one bids as there is no info on them, and in 2-3 years all 4 twins play in yet another flag side?! Perfect, Sam Power is an evil genius!

Power combines the West twins together to make around 200cm forward
