Favorite Simpsons Season?

Fairly basic question.
What season of the Simpsons do you enjoy the most?

I also grouped season 11-22 together for obvious reasons.

Season 3 and 4 were pretty special. Probably the best for mine.

Season 3 was one of the best, very heartfelt yet amazingly funny.

But for mine, season 8 wins my favourite season. So many awesome eps, including my favourite 'Homer's Enemy'.

Season 8 is awesome, a lot better than 7. 6 used to be my favourite, but I've seen those episodes a multitude of times. I'll say season 4.

• Barbershop Quartet
• Last Temptation of Homer
• Homer the Vigilante (Probably second fave ep ever. Can you swing a sack of doorknobs?)
• Homer and Apu
• Deep Space Homer

etc etc

Was the absolute peak of the Simpsons imo

 

[Bomber Bears]

Season One showed promise but wasnt particularly great, 2 definately showed improvement and featured some quality eps (eg the classice Homer gorge scene, Barts dog gets an f), three I havent seen alot of those eps for some time, but some good ones there (Homer at the Bat was a classic).

Season 4 was where it really hit its stride IMO. The classic Last Exit to Springfield, Duffless, Mr Plow, New Kid on the Block, etc

And then 5 and 6 are the best seasons, some asbolute gold in these two. % might just win it over 6, although 6 did have Lemon of Troy and Homer Badman, absolute gold episodes

7 8 9 very good still but not as good. Then it started to fall right away after season 10.

I liked all episodes from the first 10 seasons, the rest after that are meh

It was tough to choose between season 5 & 6. I chose six in the end.

I'm only counting the Seasons I have on DVD.

Many may disagree with me but I rate season 12 pretty highly. Looking at the episode list, all the episodes are good to very good. There are no absolute standout ones like there were in Season 5 (Deep space Homer, Homer loves Flanders) or Season 6 (Sideshow Bob Roberts, Homer Badman) but there are only a few I would rate below average or less.

5,6,10&11 are fantastic seasons... but in the end i love almost all eps froms s1 to about s13, then they get abit iffy.

For mine.. A tie between season 2 and 4

2 because nearly every episode introduced a new character who remained during the shows run(including my favourite ever Lionel Hutz)

Season 4 because the episodes are just plain hillairous and have some well written episodes too

For me that's when The Simpsons turned bad, looking at the list of episodes you'd think they were from around 2005ish but they were really from 2000-2001. Those aren't the bad, annoying episodes like all the latest seasons but they're pretty average.
