Tried a Gage Roads Premium Lager. Pretty good drop I must say.

Try their IPA, a much better beer.

I considered buying some Boags Pure last week. What's the difference between this and the Boags Premium? I don't think the Premium has additives either.

Dunno about the technical differences.

I love both of them, but if anything Pure seemed a little smoother for mine.

40 degree weather can make ordinary beer quite incredible though, but I'm confident I'd enjoy this beer at the worst of times.

I haven’t read this thread in its entirety so i do apologize if it’s been mentioned but last night I had a Bee Sting - Honey Wheat Beer from Barossa Valley Brewing.

It was a very nice beer to drink. Not as good as James Squires, James Boags or Coopers Pale Ale but will buy it again.

It's better than Boags.

And possibly better than Boags Honey Porter which was a limited release.

I forget about the alcohol content if I'm drinking Chimay Blue.

You can't really taste the 9% alcohol.

I've had a very fine night of beer drinking.

Brains SA, followed by a couple of Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA's and rounded out by a Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Barley Wine.

Good time had by all

Had a nice drop last night - Meantime IPA. It's English, so not nearly as hoppy as most of the American-style IPAs, but still plenty of flavour and a bit of an alcohol kick.

No idea if you can find it down in Oz though.

I picked up a carton of Tooheys Old for $30 today. I reckon this is a pretty good beer for a mainstream Australian brewery. It has a nice ammount of maltiness and goes down pretty easy for a dark ale.

It is one of the most underrated mainstream beers on the market. The fact it's also one of the cheapest is a massive win.

-Sinha (Lion) Stout
-Southwark Stout
- Hatlfiter Stout from Grand Ridge

Especially impressed with the Sinha, from Sri Lanka

Correct. I'd say it's a dark ale.

I like the Southwark stout, but as far as Adelaide-made stouts go, you cannot go past Coopers.

While in Vietnam, I was buying cans of Castle Milk Stout to keep in the hotel room fridge. I think it's South African, but it's marketed by Millers who have a brewery in Vietnam. It was quite potent (6.8% maybe?), but very smooth and easy to drink for a stout. It would be a great starting point for anyone not familiar with stouts. Has anyone else tried this drop?

Sol is a decent beer. tastes very light and watery though. i prefer it over most for some reason and it's cheap

By cheap, do you mean cheaper than Corona? By that definition every beer is cheap.
