Went down to Lorne and they had it for $29 a slab.

Gave it a try think it would be crap, i mean look at the price, was totally the opposite.

Very similar to Corona in my view, goes great with Lemon, haven't been able to find any here in Melbourne (though i haven't looked very hard).

I just bought a couple of bottles of Delirum Tremens for a mates birthday... Any thoughts on this beer? I haven't tried it before but reading about it has got me quite excited. It's 8.5%.

Was in Dan Murphys the other day and they had end-of-bin table out. Grabbed a cuppla stubbies of an Austrian Dark Beer called 'Gosser'. Definately one of the best dark beers I've had. Tried Coopers Pilsener, wasn't all that impressed with it.

Anyone tried that expensive new Matilda Bay beer? 750ml bottle costing about $16? Can't remember its name. I also picked up a 1L can of Paulaner Oktoberfest beer and a branded Stein at Dan's the other day. Made me miss marvellous Munich muchly!

The Matilda Bay one sounds like of their seasonals, which are pretty hit and miss. They'll probably be at the Fed Square micros showcase (even though they're not Vic or micro for that matter), so i'll give it a try there.

Have you had the big can yet YotR? A mate bought that same can/stein pack for me, and I'm very much looking forward to having a crack.

Yes mate, have tried a couple of their beers - Shipstones Crew is an Amber Ale and IMO not a very good one.

Totally disagree. I reckon it is the best value beer in Australia (outside of homebrewing your own).

I bought a bottle of this not too long ago. When I opened it up, it fizzed quite badly. I had seen a review online where this happened, and the guy said when this happened that it was a bad bottle. I tried it, and it didn't taste quite right. A little too sour. Have only heard good things so will have to give it another try.

Might buy some Hoegaarden White, haven't had it in a while.

Actually, the same thing happened when I tried it. It was crazy. But if that's the case I might try it again some time as the first impression wasn't too fantastic.
