Had a bottle of Young's Special London Ale last night. Very nice beer, but a little on the pricey side for what it is.

Had a Belgian white beer called Titje last week. Nice summer drink, like a less carbonated Hoegaarden.

Coopers Pale Ale - having one now :)
Hoegaarden
Barons Lemon Myrtle Witbier

My Winter Beers:
Coopers Stout (yeah bit of a fan of Coopers)
Mikkeller Black & Black Hole (heavy and amazing)
Brew Dog Tokyo Stout (18%, can only have one at a time)
Southern Tier Stouts (Mokah, Choklat & Imperial Oat)

I was under the impression that it was made at the site of the Salopian Inn? That would be McLaren Vale, or McLaren Flat.

Coopers Pale is nice though.

Lots of great boutique brewers out there Australia wide.

Anyone can give me some pointers on boutique beer?

I like the Mountain Goat stuff like Steam Ale and I like James Squires Amber Ale.

Theres this little bar in a burb of St. Kilda that I went too a while ago that had loads of different stuff.

I had some Norwegian Stout that looked like Vampire's blood.

Does it remind of you of a time you spent in Japan or something?

I bought a slab of White Rabbit White Ale just before christmas. It was pretty good. Well, it's all gone so it must have been half good, he he. Nice fruity aroma, and could definitely taste the orange.

If you're in Melbourne there is Purvis Cellars in Surrey Hills and Purvis Beer in Richmond. Great for the extreme beers :thumbsu:

I'm in Canberra/Sydney, but spend a fair bit of time in Melbourne, and will be down there next weekend. Might have a sneaky look. Thanks! :thumbsu:
 
My mate left a few bottles of Sail & Anchor "Dry Dock" at my place after Australia day. Drinking one now - what a disgusting, dry, soulless beer. Absolutely horrible TED knock-off.

Tried the new Hahn beer last week, Hahn White. I give them credit for trying something different, but it's not so hot. It's a wheat beer with a bit of orange and corriander flavour to it. For a low-carb, I can handle it, but I won't be buying it any time soon.

Took your directions and grabbed myself one while I was down there. It was certainly something! Felt like I was drinking have stout, half whiskey. Certainly one of my favourites, though my favourite rich, high-alcohol beer would be Rochefort Trappistes 10, which I had at the Belgian Beer Garden in St. Kilda while I was down there. That was something truly special!

Apparently I missed this post.

PM me the deets and I'll see what I can do. Victory seems to sell most of their beers in GA so I should be able to rustle it up. The wonder of alcohol warehouses :thumbsu:
