What is your favourite goal?

mine goes back to the 2002 third round FA Cup-replay tie between Chelsea and Norwich...Zola's little reverse volley-style flick...stunned the crowd and they didn't cheer until they saw the replay:)

Diegoal's smashing finishes against Senegal (WC 2002) and Southampton.

Diegoal's scousebusting effort against Liverpool last season

But for the goal of goals, Ryan Giggs' wondergoal against Arsenal in the 99 FA Cup Semi. Absoultely brilliant.

One by and one against Newcastle.

Dennis Bergkamp's solo effort against us is my favourite goal.

Favourite Newcastle goal is Shearer's volley against Aston Villa last season.

John Arne Riise v Man U a couple of years back. Fair dinkum, it was still speeding up when it hit the net. Best struck shot I've seen.

Charlie Yankos v Argentina.

Harry Kewell v England.

Viduka's backheel in the Olympics.

And after watching the replay today, Van der Vaart's goal from last week - best I've seen in a long time.

Actually for sheer power, nothing beats Tony Yeboah's strike for Leeds against Wimbledon a few years back. Nearly broke the crossbar and the net as well! That guy could really hit a ball hard.

It's on the Goals of the Decade DVD in the shops.

You want Aussie goals? Yankos' freekick scorcher vs Argentina '89? Viduka's audacious backheel vs the Saudis '96? Kewell's run and golden goal vs Uruguay '97? Zelic's two stunners vs the Dutch '91? Supermullet Vidmar's tremendous strikes down the years??

I stumbled onto this site over a year ago - Download em while they're hot!

aye, that's my number 1.
number 2 would be ronaldo's goal for barcelona (not sure who it was against) when he started around halfway and beat nearly every opposition player. they were all trying to drag him down by the jumper, but he just kept going.

Think that was the year before. That's my favourite too. Second would be Shearer's volley against Everton last season, third Nobby's free kick against Manyoo 3 or 4 years ago.

Anybody remember Given rolling the ball in front of him only for Dublin to come from behind him and roll it into the goal?

Last season?

Try about three seasons ago in the John Gregory days when we were actually top of the Premiership and unbeaten before that match.

Mmm... When Seamus has a rare brain explosion it's usually of nuclear proportions.

That was against Man City, I do believe.

Mine:

- Bergkamp vs. Newcastle (2001)
- Tony Yeboah vs. Wimbledon (?)
- Thierry Henry vs. Man United (2000)
- David Trezeguet vs. Fiorentina (2000)
- Rafael Van Der Vaart vs. Feyenoord (2003)
- Me vs. Some team we played in Indoor (2002)

why am I thinking George?

Jimmy Glass (Carlisle United) at Brunton Park, May 8 1999.

Last game of the season and Carlisle needs a victory to remain in England's Professional ranks. 4 minutes into injury time and on loan goalkeeper Jimmy Glass sprints to Plymouth goalmouth to contest the final corner of the season. The kick comes in... Dobie heads it on the crossbar... it lands at the feet of Glass... who smashes the ball into the back of net... Carlisle win 2-1.

I have the moment on Video tape (Sport's Tonight had it as their play of the day) and I have seen it so many times the tape is almost completely worn out, but it still brings a tear to my eye. Doesn't seem woth it now with Carlisle so far behind in last place that relegation is already guaranteed.

Really thats funny because one of the ways you can score goals in soccer is by KICKING the ball into the back of the net which means you have kicked the goal
