95 GF for me.

I was 16 and flew across from Perth with my old man who was telling me stories of the when he drove from perth to melb for the 79, 81 and 82 flags.

It wasn't just the game but the whole week that made the experience what it was.Training on the thursday night, the parade on friday, the game, back at PP for the celebrations on sat night, the family day on the sunday and to top it off the old man dragged me to Naughtons where the boys were celebrating mad monday and the old man bought me a beer even though I was only a young pup.

I have always told him that next time we are in the big dance on the last saturday in September we will be there.

Great story Blueboy this is exactly what I was hoping to see.

Last one for me was taking my 8 year old son over to the MCG last year for the 2nd clash that year between Carlton Vs Richmond(I think it was when Richmond had the save the tigers foundation going on)anyway very big win and for my son to feel the atmosphere and sing the song at the end was very special.I know he will remember it.

I have a 2yo little boy and can't wait until his old enough to take him to the G to watch the blues in a big game.

Havnt posted for a long time guys, but thought i would share a couple of interesting/funny stories from my time growing up, hanging arounf princes parf every other week.

1) My brother was once selected to be a "mascot" to run through the banner with the team at Princes Park in the mid 90's. Had his whole Carlton kit on and everything. Seeing him run through the banner with the team was very surreal ( i must have been 10 years old or so).

We were allowed full access to the change rooms after the game and we took out "100 years of Carlton" book around to every player and had it signed. We still have that book to this day. My dad aproached Peter Dean (his favourite player at the time) and shook his hand when he was in nothing but his undies. Haha. I remember hanging around Brent Heaver (my favourite player at the time) and hanging on everything he said. Was an amazing day.

2) My dad got corporate tickets to a box at Princes park one weekend and i took my best mate. Such a high-class experience for a young kid. I believe this to be the same match where Bradley kicked that amazing running banana goal against the eagles. Couldn't believe what i had seen.

During half time, none other that Stephen Kernahan walked into the box and immediately had a crowd of blokes all wanting to shake his hand. Sticks was a little pre-occupied with the snacks table and after he had gone through the formalities, decided to scoop up handfulls of party pies and sausage rolls from the table and promptly leave the box. Must have been some hungry executives in the stands somewhere. Me and my mate still laugh about it to this day.
