bit of a tangent but i’m sure you’ll indulge me- our kettle died this morning so we had to get a new one. My partner was looking at one that had variable temperature settings… i cannot think of one possible scenario that would require a variable setting kettle that couldn’t be accomplished by a regular bastard- hot kettle with some added cold tap water.

so we got a normal one

I really like the Victorinox pairing knife I got when I was packing up my late mother’s things. I have always used their state knives because they are brilliant and can’t fault this one either.

To be honest, the favourite things in my kitchen are my sharpest knives.
