After having dial-up since the days of 28K modems and missing out on being able to watch almost all youtube clips - Richmond or otherwise - I finally got off my arse and took advantage of the government's free satellite broadband installation offer...anyone who has been fortunate enough to have broadband for ages care to share some of their favourite Tiger YouTube clips? I'm sure others besides me would get plenty out of a general sharing thread.

Also, I just downloaded Replay Media Catcher so I can record/download the clips and get a collection going...any other suggestions on similar programs which are better? RMC's demo is free, seems to be pretty good judging by a few reviews I read and records 100% of YouTube clips (only 75% of other media until you upgrade), so I thought I'd start there and try it out.

Any handy advice or tips for a newbie to YouTube (or any similar good video sites) would also be great if anyone can think of anything obvious.

Cheers in advance. :thumbsu:

Thanks everyone, some great stuff there. :thumbsu:

The other option to dial-up out here was about $3K for satellite installation and then astronomical data costs Bo. Since Rudd brought in the Broadband Guarantee we get the installation free and because there's competition now the data costs are a lot more reasonable. Just about the best thing a government's ever done out here...we have to do everything online and it took forever with dial-up. Saves us an hour two a day on average.

It's a pity we dumped cogs after that.
