What was the name of the TV series (and this is going right back)

It was a western.

The show started with one guy walking down a dusty street in a town joined by 2 more to form a V and then 2 more and so on which kept the 'V' shape going.

The ending was the reverse the end 2 peeled off and then the next 2 and so on till only the first guy was left walking down the street.

Was it the Texas Rangers or similiar? Just cannot remember the series name.
