Whats your usual routine?
As a training session?the beep test.
Yea why notThinking just running fitness for footy here gents. No periodisation. It's not that serious.
Mostly old school stuff. 400, 200, 100 repeats. Fartlek.
Couple of routines like:
15sec @ 100%, 15 sec walk, 30sec @ 100%, 30 sec walk, 45sec @ 100%, 45 sec walk, 60sec @ 100%, 60 sec walk. 2 min rest, repeat 3-4 times.
As a training session?
Just doesn't seem like much of a beneficial workout, because so little of it is genuinely intense.Yea why not
Fair point, but it’s just a different form of cardio opposed to a runJust doesn't seem like much of a beneficial workout, because so little of it is genuinely intense.

Just manipulate distance, intensity and real variables.
It’ll give you a genuinely infinite amount of combinations.
We did one Monday night as a punishment for guys not turning up to pre-season camp
75 x 75m run throughs at 70-80% with ~25m walk recovery
Ends up being 5625m of running
Was that everyone or just the guys that didn’t turn up?
Of the 20+ then went to day 1 of the camp only 3 turned up for day 2.
None were there on Monday so I presume they were told not to turn up lol
Very old school, I know myself and the senior coach if we tried this at my club it wouldn’t work. Young millennials need a cuddle not a whack haha.
We scrapped the camps a couple years ago because of the lack of numbers, we just ran 3 Saturday sessions in February.
Hit the trails, its helped my match fitness and its pretty enjoyablehinking just running fitness for footy here gents. No periodisation. It's not that serious.

Just looking for short sharp running sessions to improve my cardio.Just turning up and running won't necessarily get you fitter but it can make you more tired - I'm not sure why you'd be after that though
That's bullshit whatever it was for - hope he';s ready for a slate of injuries in the next 2 - 3 weeks - especially as praccy games start up
And you know what - punishing everyone but the blokes it's intended for does sweet FA
A lot of coaching is so backwards is ridiculous
Just looking for short sharp running sessions to improve my cardio.
I actually didn’t think it was that bad (I track every session with a GPS and normally clock 4-4.5km of hard running so 5.6km isn’t *that* big of a spike).
Just boring as ****.
Hmm. Cleary I haven't explained myself at all well in this thread. I'll just google some programs.that's my point - cardio and short sharp are not the same thing by any stretch
