"Why do so many cars have their lights on during the day? And what's funny is I've noticed that most of the cars are newer. You'd think being so modern the car would have a function letting them know their lights were on!"

Believe it or not, I was stuck with a work car last week which has a digital speedo display which...get this...gets dimmed when you put the lights on. So I'm driving through pouring rain with my lights on and the speedo is so ****ing dark i can barely read it! Some safety feature

You should be driving to the conditions and not worry about your speed in rain.

Its not a safety feature. Its the power supply dropping from the dash light and being used up by the headlights.

That crazy new digital stuff. Confuses peoples common sense, apparently.

I know how the electronics work - it's ****ing stupid. Knowing your speed is part of driving to the conditions.

Its only relevant when compared to other road users speed if you are concerned about safety and conditions. You wont gain that information staring down at your dash.

Good point - why even bother with speedos in cars?
Ive been saying that for years. If more drived to conditions and traffic flow rather than looking at their ******* speedos every 30 seconds we wouldnt have incidents.

Also does anyone have "that" friend who is just a massive f'ing downer? On holidays and all i would see is updates about getting on a plane with sick people and all this other shit about how a 10hr flight is too hard and all this other gunk.

Most cars do that. The fog lights come on as soon as you release the parking break whether you have your lights turned on or not. Maybe it was just Australian built cars that didn't have that feature.

My sister. There's a running in-joke in our family that 9/10 of her status posts are about how sick either her, her husband or her son are. The other 1/10 posts are about food. She's not in on it so it's taken it from being annoying to being somewhat funny.

The ones i really hate are the vocal exercisers. I could not give any less shits about how far you ran or biked this morning or how much better than all of us it makes you.

Yep. Terrible Govt policy to focus all policing on speed - driver behaviour (i.e. focusing on the speedo) has developed as a response to this. I'd rather not get a fine if I can help it.

To be seriously about the digital speedo issue - glancing at the speedo is part of driving safely, if I can't read it easily because its too dim then I have to take my eyes off the road for longer which is unsafe.

What are they exactly? What's their purpose? This giraffe thing and now this... what's next?

When I was on exchange a few of the friends I made there were posting them on Facebook, 6 months later the fad seems to have hit Australia. They look like they'd take a fairly long time to customise (and they look awful..).
The mobile app just came out, hence the increase in popularity.

Yeah this. My sister in law started posting them first depicting all sorts of silly shit and I had actually no idea what was going on, I actually asked her when she got into cartoons albeit shit ones, she then explained it to me and I'm still none the wiser.

Now heaps of friends are doing it and my Facebook wall is now filled with suggestion ads and shit cartoons.

Will be forced to get FB in a month or so before I head overseas to keep in touch with people. Not looking forward to discovering just how many of my mates are secretly imbeciles  Although excited about the prospect of rejecting certain individuals' friend requests.

Got a distant cousin who complains and vents most days on FB (aged 25+), who I never speak to throughout the year.

Tempted to cut them off the system due to flooding my feed, but at the same time, don't want shit to hit the fan. Ahh
