and now it is all going on in Romania. Konta has left the court in tears with the match still going, Nastase has been sent to the stands, Halep has had to settle the vocal crowd down and play is suspended for the time being.

From the bbc.

So having eavesdropped into a conversation between an official and Romania's Simona Halep, Johanna Konta seems to have received some verbal abuse from somewhere in the crowd.

She tells an ITF official that she told the crowd to respect both players and “speak nice”.

Sorry. I try and make it tapa friendly and more obvious next time.

I know. It is really annoying. What's the point in this era to delay the broadcast. If they don't want to show it in prime time, they should just put it in Thier app and take the broadcast live when they cross to the tv channel.

Not your fault, if I had thought about it for another two seconds I would have realised (don't know what else I thought it would be though, other than results  ).

Agree with your comments. It's not like they are showing it on their main channel either. I though that was what these other channels were for, to show things that might otherwise clash with your prime time shows.

Interesting commentary combo, Jason Richardson and Jelena Dokic o_O

Good to hear the Romania v Britain tie is back on track. Hopefully no more nastiness (or should that be Nastase-ness).

There's crap from the crowd but when the crowd's behaviour causes a 25 minute delay and the players have to plead with the fans to calm down then, frankly, the tie should be finished behind closed doors. If the fans don't want to be respectful, then they should be locked out.

As for Nasty, well Nasty by name Nasty by nature.

Can't emphasis how bloody peed off I am with channel 7 for not showing this live. Made a concious effort to keep away from anything on the internet that might give me the scores as I prefer to watch not knowing the result, then flicked on the radio and straight away heard the score

not even watching it. just checked the score.
no real surprise. we were way too good
silly that i have to use spoiler tag in this age.

I Actually have a stream going for Belarus v Swiss. The Belarus crowd are not as wild as you would think. 3rd set in the 4th tie. Swiss need to win. Huge for both countries and players. It is still on serve. It doesn't get much better than this. players are playing much better than their rank(which is around 100 for both players IIRC)

Romans finished the job v GB as well. Halep killed Konta and really exposed her movement on the clay. Halep should be a real chance at the French. In the last match, Begu defeated Watson in 2. No handshake at the end of that last contest.

mentioned Azarenka before. i am quite sure i just saw her with the Belarus team(Edit: yes i did. looked emotional as well). I cant tell as i dont speak Russian. crowd just went nuts. this is great.

this is huge. Belarus girl (Sabalenka) serving for the tie. she saved BP in the previous game and then won 5 points in a role. just smashed her returns.

EDIT: Belarus are in the final. and they did it without Azarenka. Sasnovich was huge in beating Bacsinszky.

They could win it. Belarus with Azarenka and at home will be a very tough opponent for the US/Czechs.

I may have engaged in some poor behaviour at the tennis (I threw a bottle at Baghdatis's opponent during the AO:oops:) but personally I didn't have any issue with the Romanian crowd. Good to have some passion, great atmosphere.

Heard it was a good final. The Yanks beat a dogged Belarus 3-2 in the deciding doubles.

Good on Sasnovich and Sabalenka(i think) for making it a tie and beating Stephens. Just couldn't beat Coco in the other 3 matches. Sasnovich is always capable of an upset(or playing really really bad).

Don't think Belarus are quite done yet. Azarenka will return and they should be as strong next year.
