There is a cracking TV show on SBS called Counterpart. The short story is that, after an experiment which went wrong 30 years ago, we ended up with two worlds, ours (called Alpha) and theirs (called Prime).

Everyone has a Counterpart on the other side, same but different due to the different world and different life decisions.

So we only know too well the hideous Alpha world we live in, with ScoMo as PM and Showbags Bill as Opposition leader about to become PM in a landslide.

But what if in the Prime world, Albo won the Opposition leader contest in 2013 and more importantly, Bishop won PM when Turnbull was turfed.

Who would win this Federal election in the Prime world?

Thread is prompted not by the TV series, but by a comment from a mate about how silly the Libs were. He claimed that if Bishop was PM, they would win in a canter. But would they?

Gosh, just checked, have missed series two. First series was great. Need to catch up.

Back to your post, think it depends on who Bishop had around her and if policies include Climate Change, otherwise think that poll numbers would be the same and she still would be higher in preferred PM. If her policies were also more centre aligned, gee would be very close.

Also wouldn't get the same abuse as Gillard as she has built up her persona extremely well.

Anyone except the liberal wierd wacko right wing would beat the most disliked distrusted opposition leader in Australian political history.

Albo on the other hand would have been a smart choice if the alp choose the best they had rather than who a dozen or so union officials decided.

Albo probably would have won in 2016.
