Would like to see people's thought's on these freakish athletes. I recognise that they are playing different sports and have dominated in different ways - but I am interested in who your think is the BEST. Make sure that you include their ENTIRE career (i.e. Federer has held No.1 for 4 years, not just the last six months). Personally I will go Federer in a photo finish for his ABSOLUTE dominance, but Woods has got him for LONGEVITY. I don't actually think either of them can really be seperated - but just interested in people's thoughts on two of the most amazing sportsmen of our time.

Woods, until Federer wins on clay he is not even close to the best tennis player. Heck I recon Nadal is closer to doing the "slam" than Federer is!

Federer is a serial finalist at every grand slam event. Rafa has never finalled nor really looked like finalling at NY or Melbourne. your comment is inaccurate though I recognise Rafa's awesome power at RG does prevent Roger winning the slam.

Federer or woods? Time will tell. Both are clearly the stand out athletes of their generation is their chosen sports but how we come back from adversity is the greatest test. How will Tiger get back in the groove after months out injured? Is NY a glorious intermission in Roger's decline or will he return to his best over the next 2 years? the answers to those questions when they are answered will help answer the question posed in this thread.

Woods by a long shot, federer is absolute ****wit, who has no respect for his opponent, he thinks he is god and no one deserves to beat him...Woods >>>>>>>>> that maggot.

You are tipping over into self parody TP.

You have absolutely no credibility in analysing Fed or his form or place in the game since you simply cannot think about him without the red mist descending.

Its a shame really. A tennis fan who cannot or will not appreciate the sport's greatest ever talent. A same but your decision. I'm sure there were naysaying basketball fans who disliked jordan.

if you havent noticed, many people here and at MTF agrees with it.Federer is very nice when he wins but when he loses he is a different person. How about some credit to rafa for wimbledon victory? wow...no no not coming from that maggot. He says he couldnt see anything at all and rafa had the advantage cause he had more spin on the ball  ...thats right, ladies and gentleman according to federer rafa won wimbledon cause of poor light.

When he got his arse kicked into infinity by Rafa at F.O what does fed say? well its F.O who cares? thats right, i am sure he doesnt care... and went on to say...I AM STILL THE FAVOURITE AT WIMBLEDON. What kind of a maggot makes statement like that? dont we know he is the favourite at wimbledon???? GT you cannot defend comments like that, and his comments regarding murrays and rafas style of play was disgraceful...he said...nadal will never beat me on grass with this style of tennis...karma????

Talking about credibility, why do you then even try talking about rafa? your comments like rafa will never beat nole out of a non clay surface, rafa will never win a grand slam outside F.O , djokovic will pass rafa this year, blah blah.... makes you any credibile? Please...go look at yourself on the mirror, your either a serial nadal hater or you dont have any clue about tennis...

who has compared nadal with woods? i sure as hell didnt and i am not jealous.Federer is a great player no doubt, however when it comes to losing, he is a ********... i have posted facts above, feel free to dispute that.

I keep hearing the word "FACT" from you. What you have said aren't facts, but your opinion or your interpretation of what Fed has said.

I hate Hewitt because of his spoilt, racist, "mummy boys" attitude. These are my opinions about him. I believe the Blake incident was a racist slur. Others will disagree with me. Hewitt being a racist based on this incident isn't a fact, simply my interpretation.

Just like your interpretation of what Fed has said. These aren't facts. Period.

My opinion? did you read the other thread about most hated tennis player? actually people backed me up in that thread, so obviously i am not the only one who thinks about this.. and what is "my opinion" about roger saying rafa is too defensive to win wimbledon title? he said exactly that, so how are you going to interpret it little boy??

what is my interpretation about federer complaining about BAD LIGHT at wimbledon and he did say, he was not able to see anything in the final game??? sounds like whinging to me...care to give me an alternate interpreation?

What is my interpretation about Federer beating his own drums and saying...I AM STILL THE FAVOURITE GOING INTO WIMBLEDON?? how are you going to explain it?? lets hear it from you then?

Just for you maccaknowsnothing, just after losing to murray in dubai, federer comes up with this, but hey its my interpretation  .Instead of being gracious, he criticises Muzza

Federer criticises Murray's style

Murray's Dubai win carries on his good record against Federer
World number one Roger Federer believes Andy Murray's game has not changed since their first meeting in the Thailand Open final in 2005.

Murray has won the last two of their three career meetings, including victory in the first round of the Dubai Championship on Monday.

"He's going to have to grind very hard for the next few years if he keeps playing this way.

"He tends to wait a lot for the mistake of the opponent," said Federer.

"He stands way far behind on the court and that means you've got to do a lot of running.

"I gave him the mistakes today but I think overall, over a 15-year career, you want to look to win a point more often than for an opponent to miss.

606: DEBATE
Federer is paying dearly for not being an all-court player with a complete game

CT

"That's what served me well over the years but who knows, he might surprise us all and do it for 20 years.

"I don't think he's changed his game a whole lot since I played him in the Bangkok final.

"Not that I'm disappointed but I really would have thought he would have changed it in some ways."

But Murray, who beat Federer 6-7 (6-8) 6-3 6-4 in Dubai, said he was surprised by Federer's comments.

"You do different things against different players." said the Scot.

I feel quicker and stronger around the court. Mentally I feel like I'm better.

Andy Murray

"You go and watch my match against Rafael Nadal at the 2007 Australian Open, and I was playing pretty close to the baseline in that match and taking a lot of risks because I think that's the right way to play against him..

"Against Federer I don't think that's the right way to play. I'm not going to play that sort of game against someone that defends as well as Federer does.

"My serve is clearly much better than it was two years ago. I feel quicker and stronger around the court. Mentally I feel like I'm better.

"But there are still some things in my game that I want to improve and it does take some time to put them into the match court. I feel like I've started to do that this year."

He thinks murrays game is crap, instead of praising him, he thinks he gave it to him on a plate and murray is a complete dud .... rolleyes: Federer is a maggot, keep digging though.Murray defend his style of play later on though, but hey what would he know, that maggot knows best specially after losing...he is the god remember?

My opinion? did you read the other thread about most hated tennis player? actually people backed me up in that thread, so obviously i am not the only one who thinks about this

Lol...so a handful of people who backed you up on an internet forum implies that what you said is fact? Pull the other one.

.. and what is "my opinion" about roger saying rafa is too defensive to win wimbledon title? he said exactly that, so how are you going to interpret it little boy??

Have a link for what Roger said? So Roger's prediction was wrong. Big deal. Some people, like yourself, would call Roger's comments arrogant, others will say it's nothing more than a challenge to Rafa. Who knows, perhaps Rafa should thank Roger if this spurred him on.

.. what is my interpretation about federer complaining about BAD LIGHT at wimbledon and he did say, he was not able to see anything in the final game??? sounds like whinging to me...care to give me an alternate interpreation?

FFS, the light was bad! I know someone who was there and they said they were struggling to see the ball. Apparently, there was <10mins before they were going to call it off. I would hardly call it a whinge. How often do tennis players play in light like that?

On a side note, in a previous thread, you stated that Rafa basically stated that he was tired leading into the US Open. How is that any less of a whinge then complaining about playing in the dark? IMO, this just sounded like an escape clause if he failed at the open.

What is my interpretation about Federer beating his own drums and saying...I AM STILL THE FAVOURITE GOING INTO WIMBLEDON?? how are you going to explain it?? lets hear it from you then?

IMO, a little cocky if that is what he said. But whatever he says is going to be blown out of proportion by your hatred for Roger. I'm the same about Hewitt. But unlike you, I never stated my opinions' about Hewitt are facts :)

lol...he never said he thinks Murray's game is crap. Again, that's your interpretation.

There's only a couple of thing in the article that would raise an eyebrow, very little though.

amazing...afterall this you still defend him? well you are one eyed roger fan then, not surprised that roger fans are back claiming they had no idea there was a tennis forum on bigfooty and now after roger wins US open...they have miraculously found the forum.. makes me laugh kinda.

How is that my interpreation of criticising murrays game? dont you read the headlines...FEDERER CRITICISES MURRAYS STYLE... yes HE CRITICISED murray, AFTER LOSING the match...or is it too difficult for you to understand simple English???

Lol...so a handful of people who backed you up on an internet forum implies that what you said is fact? Pull the other one.
yes a handful amongst a few non roger fans that post here. How many people post here? i would say 15-20 individual posters.Backed up by 2-3 of them is not bad...go to MTF, you can find plenty who agrees with me.You lose.

Have a link for what Roger said? So Roger's prediction was wrong. Big deal. Some people, like yourself, would call Roger's comments arrogant, others will say it's nothing more than a challenge to Rafa. Who knows, perhaps Rafa should thank Roger if this spurred him on.
Prediction? its called mutual respect. This is not WWE, this is tennis, you respect your opponent and such an opponent who has a winning record on you.So if you support this, you must support hewitt as well, he used to criticise players styles like that.Calling someone "too defensive to win on grass" is not really respectful and secondly who the **** is he to comment about rafas game? he is rafas bitch for life.

FFS, the light was bad! I know someone who was there and they said they were struggling to see the ball. Apparently, there was <10mins before they were going to call it off. I would hardly call it a whinge. How often do tennis players play in light like that?
The light was bad and there were 2 players playing there.Or you think rafa has super sensor contact lenses out there?? call about having a whinge.. NOT ONCE in that interview he said rafa beat him, everytime he said..how he didnt play well in that match...surprise surprise:rolleyes:.Amazingly last year when he won, he said, rafa was so awesome, he will start winning wimbledon soon and he is such a better serve now..blah blah..what happened to all those?? oh i forgot he lost.
On a side note, in a previous thread, you stated that Rafa basically stated that he was tired leading into the US Open. How is that any less of a whinge then complaining about playing in the dark? IMO, this just sounded like an escape clause if he failed at the open.
He was ASKED if he was tired for the Murray match in the semi final, he replied "I want to win no? i cannot be tired". Do you understand that? or do i need to spoonfeed you again?

IMO, a little cocky if that is what he said. But whatever he says is going to be blown out of proportion by your hatred for Roger. I'm the same about Hewitt. But unlike you, I never stated my opinions' about Hewitt are facts :)
little cocky? how about too cocky?? thats right...get those rose coloured glasses off and you can see the reality :thumbsu:

I'm not defending him. I just dont think it's as big an issue as you are trying to spin.

I said I like Rog AND Nadal. I think it's great they have a healthy rivalry. It was getting boring with Fed winning all the time. I just don't go on pretending my opinions are facts!

You're the one stating that Rog said Murray's style is crap. Show me where he specifically says this. You can't! He made some comments about Murray's game. A few comments can be taken either way. Perhaps the journalists asked specific questions about Murray's style. Who said Rog didn't praise Murray? Perhaps the journalist/editor only picked out the "negative" comments.

Oh, poor Rafa, he never whinges

Rafael Nadal has criticised tennis chiefs, saying the European tennis calendar is being "destroyed" by the packed schedule.
"These people are destroying Europe and Europe used to be the foundation of the tour," said Nadal, who is playing four events in as many weeks.

"I think it's completely impossible to play at one's best level for all four tournaments - Monte Carlo, Barcelona, Rome and Hamburg," Nadal said.

"I think that when a player loses in the first round or pulls out and they get criticised, the tournament should ring these people (the ATP) and tell them that it is their fault.

"I have some email conversations with these people but it is true that they end up doing what they like and I am getting tired of it all."

seriously, you need a brain. He basically CRITICISED his style, criticism means he didnt like his style and he THINKS he wont last long with his style, this is why he said... he stands too far behind the baseline, this style will wear him down in 3 years.Thats federer opinion of a guy who just owned him. FFS

Secondly, if you dont know...Nadals motion was supported by 82% of ATP players on a vote.. the ATP calender is set to be revised from 2010. Whats wrong with his notion anyway? tennis is the only sport in the world without an off season. Dont you support that? or you think tennis should go on for 50 weeks a year???? and since you are NEW TO TENNIS, this issue was first raised by tommy robredo and then jim courier..

Federer after losing to Djokovic in Aussie open

ROGER: You know, I don't trust his injuries...[general laughter] It's not funny, yeah? I'm serious.

INTERVIEWER: He was running around pretty well....

ROGER: Well, that's what I'm saying. I think he's a joke when it comes down to his injuries. I mean, the rules are there to be used but not abused. He was doing it many times, that's why I was not happy to see him doing that and then running around like a rabbit again, so... [more laughter] Yeah, it was a good handshake for me. I was happy to beat him.

Another example...hmmm keep digging, as i said, if you have half a brain you can see he doesnt pay respect when he loses
