Some classic comments from Federer over the last year :D (courtesy MTF)

Before he managed his 20 minutes of shut-eye, the champion went on to the internet to study images of his performance. “I wanted to get a sense of what the fans saw,” he said. “I like to see the pictures before I go to bed. I would never have done that at Wimbledon this year. I have never seen a picture of Rafa [Nadal] holding the trophy and it's something I don't ever want to see.

I'm still a little bit disappointed a match like that was decided at night. I understand it was appropriate to finish it because of the special occasion we were under. Fair play, the crowds were there and they wanted a proper ending. But I think more people left feeling sorry for me than they were happy for Rafa, which hurts me a little. At the same time, I appreciate that tennis went up a notch with that match and that's what I strove to do in my five years as No1, to make tennis better, more popular and I admit that that Wimbledon final achieved all I had wanted, even if I lost it.”

Thats right, if it wasnt like that, he should have won it.Rafa cheated hey roger? :thumbsu::eek:
Amazing...the maggot reckons people were sorry for him than was happy for rafa winning wimbledon and this gold comment was last year after winning wimbledon against Rafa :D (apart from other comments i have mentioned in the other thread re: Murray).

I always knew I had great defensive skills, and I showed that again this week with the great offensive skill. And when both work, it's hard to beat me basically."

This proves he might be a great player but a disgraceful human being.Wonder how gaelictiogar gonna spin out of this one???

Mate, seriously, get a grip. Federer is a 'disgraceful human being'? The obsessive hate for the great man is alarming. If Fed is a disgraceful human being what does that make serial killers, terrorists, dictators, rapists, child molesters? I guess they are on the same level as the absolute disgrace that is Roger Federer.

He thinks he is god, invincible  whenever he loses its because he was ill or the weather is bad.He has a huge ego which makes him a sad human being.Ok disgraceful making going too far..but he has a huge ego, i dont understand how people actually like him.I couldnt say the same about sampras and i dont like sampras either.

Are you referring to Chad "goosestep" Cornes?

OR

Warren "take a bow/phone home" Treadrea?

Let's be serious, if you think Fed is big headed, these two deserve a mention

obviously you are new to tennis? have you ever watched Andre Agassi? his bow? have you ever watched Boris Becker, his salute? have you ever watched players like Bjorkman, Edberg doing similar things? thats call showmanship, how come they are the popular tennis players? you are confusing between showmanship and arrogance.Where did chad cornes say that port lost because of injuries or umpires etc????

Federer on the other hand will NEVER accept he got outclassed. He lost at the french open and he said he doesnt care about that and he is looking forward to wimbledon...yeah i am sure he doesnt care.He lost at wimbledon and said.. oh dear crowd felt sorry for me cause the light was so bad... wow.Rafa is a cheat. When he lost the Nole he blamed Noles tactics for his loss. When he lost to Muzza he criticised his style of play.Do you see a trend here, or you still prefer to be blind and dumb?

Here is a challenge, find me a fed comment where he said he got outclassed. Come on...do it.

Credibility gone. You are seriously comparing the Tredrea bow in that final to the routine Agassi bow to the crowd after his matches? :D

I never saw any of those players bow/salute during play. I only ever recall Agassi doing it after the game was completed

Take your teal coloured glasses off.....I'll do a TP trick and state that many, many people on this site and the general footy community believe that Treaders and Cornes are arrogant w@nkers. The sample size confirms these comments as...what is it you tend to say?...That's right. Fact :D

Welcome to the world of tennis...here is your first lesson

Does anyone ever called it arrogant? clutching the straws desperately now i see...N00b

I agree that Federer is arrogant, but then again he has won 13 Grand Slams so I guess anyone would be pretty pleased with what they had accomplished after winning that many. Someone who shits me with his arrogance is Roddick, if things aren't going his way he never loses it with himself - its always someone or something else. No wonder Jimmy Connors gave him the arse, I couldnt stand being around an arrogant ***t like him. Imagine what it would be like "ok Andy, you lost because you kept hitting it back to the middle of the court", "but the umpire kept making these terrible calls, and the crowd was yelling at me, and my opponent kept looking at me a funny way, and..........".

Hate the guy, hate him winning more than Collingwood winning - and thats saying something.

well maccasknowsnothing, its better if you dont discuss tennis with me again :) you have been slapped around these forums by me like a thankgiving turkey :D

I agree roddick is arrogant too..but federers arrogance starts with he himself has the idea that he is unbeatable. He doesnt need a coach and he brags about it and whenever he loses its because he was not upto it or he was not interested.13 slams shouldnt make you that arrogant, look at Sampras, when Agassi beat him everytime he said, when andre is switched on the only guy who can beat agassi is agassi himself..now thats respect for you.Federer is just an annoying bigheaded maggot.

Still waiting for the federer fans to find evidence of federer admitting his opponent outclassed him.

Regarding roddick, i think his 'arrogance' is overstated. He may be stubborn in terms of changing his gameplan or tactics, but in terms of respect toward his opponents, I've seen him give it plenty of times.

^I've seen Roddick do similar things like this (i realise the youtube link shows an exhibition match, but i'm talking about real matches here) during matches, countless times. In my opinion, very respectful toward his opponent. But then again, being outspoken can cloud people's judgement. He isn't exactly a media person that just gives cliches.

Go onto youtube and watch the arrogant Muhammad Ali taunt his opponents. Watch George Best wave soccer defenders to challenge him while standing with one of his magic feet on the ball and hands on hips, watch Campese in rugby....all arrogant in a way. Roger Federer is arrogant. He is among the handful of gifted sportsmen and many of them are totally believing in themselves.

I watched a DVD on George Best recently. He was asked was he sad at the fact that his lifestyle prevented him being the greatest. He responded totally seriously that he WAS the greatest, that Pele had said so, that he was a superb msestro of his game and so he was. Federer is the same, the tennis equivalent of the outrageous gifts of Best or Ali and that is why anyone who loves tennis loves his game. Many WERE sad for him at Wimbledon. Many felt delighted for Rafa but sad that his victory had to be at the expense of the sublime talent missing out on a unique 6 in a row.

For years now he has herd from everyone, including rafa nadal, that he is the best. he is the best. he knows it. everyone knows it and it would be false modesty were he to deny it. there almost always is a reason based in his own game when he loses except to Rafa on clay. All of his losses are explicable by reference to his underperforming since if he performs to his ability he wins because he has more ability. It is that simple. His analysis is both arrogant and absolutely spot on. Apart from Rafa on clay Federer is only ever beaten by himself.

Ever tried to accurately convey your feelings and emotions in something other than your native language? He's inarticulate when speaking Swiss German, let alone trying to translate his muddle-headed thoughts into, what actually is, his third language. And lets' be honest, his English is pretty crap too. You have to be careful of dissecting comments made in English by Roger Federer - it's not always what it seems.

you are comparing tennis with boxing, which is a violent and totally different sport, clutching the straws now arent you? boxing over the years had some of the worst violent characters in the history of sport...how can you compare that with tennis?? its like comparing wwe with cricket.

So recently the rock band OASIS came out and said...WE ARE MUCH MUCH BIGGER THAN THE BEATLES, when people compared them with beatles. How would you react to that? the first thing that comes to your mind is... they are w***ers arent they? Federer is just like them.Just because you are quoting some stories of the some of the greatest w***ers in the history of sport, you are virtually accepting the fact that federer is a w***er as well. How many times have u heard sampras or laver or borg or mcenroe arrogant? have you heard don bradman, tendulkar being arrogant?
Two wrongs doesnt make a right my friend, you are trying to quote a wrong to support that maggot?

Get your head out of your arse, just because he is gifted and he is talented it doesnt automatically gives him the right to be arrogant.Just because you gave a couple of examples of the greatest ego trippers in the history of sport doesnt mean federer has to be the same...come on GT, you know he is arrogant.

I really laugh at the comment that federer is only beaten by himself, when 10 out of 12 matches against rafa he has faced (including grass and hardcourts) he found it extremely difficult even when he won.He gives all the credits to his opponent when he wins, but what happens to him when he wins? oh thats right, all of a sudden he is a different person alltogether.

And he gets outclassed by rafa everytime they play.Rafa forces him into errors and that....translated by tennis n00bs like yourself, to be crap form. Federer got outclassed by Safin in AO SF as well and he as usual paid no credit to Safin.

I knew GT would try to spin bullshit to get out of this, the fact is federer is an arrogant bigheaded maggot who thinks he is god.

translated by tennis n00bs like yourself

Why are you always insulting people about their tennis knowledge? What makes you such an expert? Nothing. All I think of when I see your name is a Rafael Nadal fan boy that has an obsessive hatred for Federer and therefore cannot make an impartial post about either player.

everyone else in the world can see that federers game doesnt matchup well against Nadal, all i ask people is to see things beyond statistics. Is it that difficult to do? nadal forces federer into errors, look at all their head to heads, its the same story, everyone else accepts it, other than fed fans ofcourse.

and ofcourse GT is an obsessive hater too, i call him a n00b cause he makes ridiculous comments, you are new here to you wouldnt know.Dig up some of the old threads and you can see...he made comments like...rafa will never beat nole out of a non clay surface, rafa will never win a non clay grand slam...rafa will never beat federer in a non clay slam...i can go on and on, if you make those predictions and dish it out to me, be prepared to take it back as well, dont cry.

I call him a n00b only because he doesnt analyze the game properly. He doesnt understand why fed makes so many unforced errors against rafa, he looks the UE tally and says, OMG he was playing crap. Well what can you say? anyone who played tennis, would understand rafa tactics against federer is unique, because of his heavy topspin forhand towards his backhand side.
