55 years in prison for 3 women who protested mandatory hijab

The Revolutionary Court of Tehran sentenced civil rights activists and Mozhgan Keshavarz, Yasaman Ariani, and her mother Monireh Arabshahi, to 55 years in prison combined. The three are currently held in Varamin Prison.

According to HRANA, the Human Rights Activists News Agency, the three were tried and sentenced by Judge Moghiseh on the charges of “conspiracy and assembly to act against national security, propaganda against the regime, and facilitating corruption and depravity”. Their sentences were delivered without the presence of their attorney. On March 8th, the International Women’s Day, the three civil activists offered flowers and pastry to passengers in Tehran’s subway. The video of this event went viral on social media which caused an uproar in state media.

Amir Raeesian, the defense attorney for Yasamin Ariani and Monireh Arabshahi announced that “at no point during the process, neither during the interrogation nor even trial sessions were the defense attorneys allowed to attend.” Mozhgan Keshavarz’s attorney, Mohammad Moghimi also reported that he was not allowed to participate in any stage of the process.Moghimi announced that aside from the three aforementioned charges, Ms. Keshavarz has also been sentenced to seven years and six months in prison on the charge of “blasphemy”.

In recent months the crackdown on “improper hijab” has intensified due to the requests from the Friday-Prayer Imams across the country.

Im utterly bemused Clementine Ford has had the ability to convince so many women everything she says is Gospel.

'Men don’t choose to kill their wives and girlfriends because they were born with the ‘bad man’ gene -- they choose this course of action because patriarchy has convinced them they are entitled to'

Recent official study on the murder of children shows women way over represemtated as perpetrator. So logically, if her belief is true why men kill thier partner, then women kill thier children because feminism has taught them they can do what they want, the kid came from thier body

Australian feminists don't give a toss about actual inequality and discrimination. It's a protest they cant win, a system where they can't effect instant change.

More often than not its a case of easy picking or all talk and no action on real issues

Monsters, men and magic: why feminists turned to witchcraft to oppose Trump

Whether it’s hexing the president, chatting in WhatsApp covens or featuring in TV reboots, radicalised women have been finding strength in the ancient pagan arts

‘This is the time for getting scary,” the writer Andi Zeisler told Elle magazine on the eve of the 2017 Women’s March. “We need to go full witch.”

For all her faults, I really don't think Hillary Clinton would go in for this nonsense.

Crickets every time. They're more likely to wear one just to tell everyone how sexy they can look and at how accepting they are. They couldn't give a s**t about the real issues.

Yep, they are power trippers, who actually do * all work to build anything, but want to control the work of others, facilitated by guilt politics.

Feminism definition of equality: sit back do nothing, wait for men to create build invest sacrifice and risk all then demand equal outcomes ( only when it’s beneficial) just because

It's important to note that women have also made significant contributions in many areas, but I can't think of a single one of them who defined themselves as feminists in the contemporary sense. They were too f%&king busy doing WORK.

It's very important to always clearly delineate contemporary feminism from women in general.............even though contemporary feminist's overwhelmingly fail in that process, and truly believe that they speak on behalf of the entirety of women.

Respect women, not (contemporary) feminists.

Sexist ? Another false allegation

Whenever a feminist lately squeals about ‘equality’ it nearly always follows the above definition
Yep. I don't believe only men did it all.

If these feminists you're talking about exist... then they've been sitting back waiting for men and women to do it all, rather than just men, right?

I think Snake actually got a similar impression from your post. Which is why he tried to clarify your point.

Certainly seems to be a human rights issue. Am assuming most posters on this thread would like to send a letter off, regardless of where one’s sympathies lie.
