eagles crowds never boo, what are you talking about IP?

They're far too classy and dignified for that.

Tambling over Franklin...

END OF DISCUSSION...There is one club that always makes me feel better about my own

You got that right. And Cousins is a human being that does not deserve our respect. He sure as hell doesn't have much for the rest of us. You included.
He seemed very respectful after the game.

And if Eagles fans boo Medhurst then that is equally as deplorable.

I don't really care I am just surprised that people do it to any player and don't see how Cousins once playing for the Eagles is a valid reason.

Heck if Dockers fans embrace it then that is up to them, I just don't think it is very sportsman like or a good culture to embrace.

Hahahahaha see you have it all wrong.

You have Cousins in your av after all he did to your club?

Man you are one sad individual - perhaps you may want to have one of the guys like Glass or Coxy ...you know the ones who didn't cause an implosion at your club after you won a flag.

He has no respect, if he pinged a hammy to quote the Smiths

'I may feel slightly sad but I wont cry'

Hahahahahaha I wouldn't normally put any player in my avatar. This one probably won't last long either.

But just like BB's "Back Off" Harvey avatar it is a funny situation and definitely avatar worthy:D.

In the end though they are all just footballers and I would rather respect them for their skills than get caught up being petty and mudslinging like some fans.

You must be shit-stirring - you couldn't possibly believe in this high horse you've parked yourself on.

You do realise that eagles crowds have a reputation over east for booing anything and everything?

In fact, if eagles crowds stopped booing they would cease to make any noise at all. You might as well play in front of a bunch of mannequins - and they'd still probably know more about the game than half your supporters.

Oh well that makes it far less pathetic then.

You are just a West Coast fan trying desperately to latch onto to something to give us shizen about ...unfortunatley your own club is out crabbing us so latch onto an arrogant sod and then come here under the premise of 'I just respect good footballers'.

You still get a boner for Judd to I bet - where as we hate the Carrs and Warnocks of this world ....must be a culture thing - passion versus monocles and Chardonnay.

Take your fantastic footballer stories and take em to a board that cares.

Yep tired clinches like this don't really mean too much.

I wouldn't support any booing like that from Eagles fans and have never booed a player, nor tried to justify that kind of behaviour like you Esti.

Also I havn't seen a display yet like that from our fans this year and to be honest having lived "over east" for a lot of my life have only really heard my dad claim Eagles supporters are bad.

Booing happens everywhere, but this thread was about tonight's which is probably the worst display I have seen this season and just wondered what the reasons people had.

just wondered what the reasons people had.

We were trying to discourage drug taking amongst our youth.

Dont think of it so much us booing Ben but us making a community service announcement.

Bwahahahahahaha so passionate:p.

This is your problem you are unable to objectively see this kind of conduct for what it is. It is sad you can't see past the Dockers v Eagles "rivalry" and this is the only context you seem to be able to view football through.

This is a shame for you. There is more for you guys than bitterly dragging at the back of our coat tails to bad you can't see it.

I see more bitching about WC on here than in bay13 which is disappointing, there is a wilder football world out there and you are missing out on so much.

I wouldn't have booed Cousins today either. I've only ever booed for two reasons

i) Freo traitors like Jeff White

ii) players who during a game have struck or roughed up Freo players or generally acted like a tool

But I have no problem with anyone who did boo Cousins. I found it quite amusing.

Booing happens everywhere, but this thread was about tonight's which is probably the worst display I have seen this season and just wondered what the reasons people had.

It's part of the theatre of football. Footy is a form of entertainment and Cousins was playing the role of the pantomime villain tonight.

It's nothing serious and I'm sure Cousins understands that just as Judd understood when he made his quip 'popular decision!' while the boos were raining down during his medal presentation.

It's not like people run up to them on the street and abuse them. And it's nowhere near as big a deal as you're trying to make out.

I'm not calling you a knob because you go for West Coast, I'm calling you a knob who happens to go for West Coast ...big difference.

Plus here is a little tip ...if you are going to play the 'why can't you get past the rivalry' card - try and do it when you are not choosing to come and post on our team board, after a loss with a guy who gave the finger up to our club as your Av?

I can just see you uploading the picture and rushing to our board to express your dismay.

Please get a life and worry more about your own mob who as pathetic and beat up as we are ...we still ahead of you and our captains are not playing for 2 other clubs.

Mate serious lack of moral fibre resorting to personal attacks, but should I expect more?

I just posted on this thread ask the question and get harangued and an earful and whilst Esti sees nothing wrong with booing he has the only person that has given me a proper answer and also admitted he wouldn't.

But rather than address the issue you viciously lash out at a person who is actually trying to be civil. I don't hate the Dockers, don't enjoy watching them lose, I just wanted to see why fans were booing or thought it was acceptable.

Thanks aswell Esti I can see your point of view, even if I don't necessarily agree, it does increase the spectacle.

I was just giving you a Big Footy finger ...nothing wrong with that by your own admission.

Just respect that I am a quality poster who is loved and revered by many and enjoy my posts whilst respecting the colourful defence of the Freo faithful.

Perhaps you could put a pic of me in your av?

i booed, although i didn't start until half way through the first quarter. i only did it because it was fun, and it got some good atmosphere going in the crowd. anything which can get the crowd going, i will join in.

Troubles differentiating fantasy and reality??

Anyway who said I had to give you quarter and respect as a participant instead of a spectator? Just trying to play the game as it's meant to be played:p, we can't all be filthy Farmer-esque snipers playing the man and not the ball.

Oh well I'm off, answering questions instead of personal attacks seems to be a little high brow for you Moo.

Though a picture of a Jeff like arms in the air halalooya type celebration after that post might be more apt from you;) with all the self congratulating going on.

Well that sounds reasonable, at least I can understand that:D.

I decided that i would save my boos for when/if Josh Carr and Robbie Warnock come to town. For me it comes down to slighting the club.
some players though, seem to attract the boos because of their notoriety. Fevola and Barry Hall are two names that spring to mind, and I guess smug Benny fit into that latter category for many.
So i didn't boo- I laughed.

Yes Ben was such a gentleman giving the crowd the finger after the game with a big smirk on his face. No doubt that will endear him further to the AFL. Classy guy.

Did he do it after the game as well?

It does seem weird that thousands of people can shit can you en masse and if you respond you get a fine.

I boo'd Cousins and will do it again.

The guy is and has been involved in a realm of Perth that is seriously detrimental to our city. He is a ****ing disgrace of a human being and should be punished by all.

All of us go about our daily lives without becoming addicted to drugs, no one should be made a martyr or receive sympathy for actions deemed illegal by our governing body. Anyone that disagrees should be banished from our country.

I am going overboard but **** it, Jeff Farmer is half the villain Ben Cousins is, **** our standing standards of social actions. I hate this **** and will let it be known for eternity.

Silly me, I thought the whole point of having a home ground advantage was to create an intimidating atmosphere for the opposition. I didn't realise there was a gentlemanly code of conduct about making players from the other team feel welcome.

Next time we'll roll out the red carpet and treat Cousins with the reverence he deserves. I might even bake some scones for him.

I hope he likes scones.
Spot on Esti.

I love the booing, do it myself occasionally (tastefully of course )
Don't give the opposition anything, on the field or from the crowd, that's the way I see it. You don't want clubs to enjoy coming over here, and the crowd is a big part of that.

I could do with a scone as well if you're making some.
