Watching the first quarter of Westies vs. WWT on ABC (I can't go today due to other commitments later on), and Watts has been playing pretty well. I think he's taken four marks and kicked both of our goals.

I'll post some updates before I head off to do what I have to do. :)

Fergus has 3 at three quarter time.

He can really take a contested mark and thinks when he has the ball.

Tin Giniver gave him a deserved big wrap.

He's only played 3 SANFL games after playing U/18's last year.

He's going to be very good. I wouldn't rush him.

Eagles thrashed the Bloods 18-17 to 13-3.

Agree that he should play consistent footy for the Eagles before getting his chance. Let's not rush him, as he is a key to our future forward line.

About to head off to AAMI however saw Fergus at Richmond today and I am getting excited about this kids prospects for the Crows. He can take a grab and is getting into the swings of things at the Eags. Mind you the no of times the ball enters the foward line he should get plenty of chances (reminds me of another side).

Don't rush him as the kid is only 18 yo and whilst he looks fully devloped don't want to shatter him in any way. Depending how the rest of the year pans out, he may get a callup but most probably will be involved next year (then again have Caret next to him and boy would the kid learn a thing or two).

Well, the Eags have done it again now all I need is for Crows to get up to top the day off nicely.

I see he was named in defence, but played up forward?

I'd see him as a long term forward for us...but I dont mind him learning his stuff in defence for the Eagles.

I wouldnt mind starting him in defence fro the AFC, a 197 cm backman that backs himself in a contest and can take strong marks would not go astray. Field kicking and match fitness are my only concerns with him.

I said a few weeks ago ago after watching him against Centrals he could be a chance to get a game by June. Sounds like he is coming along nicely and just might be a Crow soon.

Jerome, in all the three games I have seen play in the league, each time it has been on the full forward line (coming from the pocket).

I cleared up a few things during the week so I can have a footy fest today. I went down to Richmond to have a good look at Fergus and he was fantastic. Some of the marks were Jonathan Brown like. The kid has a real crack. Looked good as a forward. spent majority of the game at FF but did wonder further up the ground and provided a target. He was fantastic. He needs to work on his kicking especially in field play but he has real leadership qualitites. He is shouting instructions at his team mates. Providing a contest, shepparding. His attack at the ball saw him took a few fantastic marks, split some packs and set up a couple of goals.

Rutten was a bit off today. Not overly impressive.

I know PAfowlr will ask how did the Port boys go. Hassan was good, Ellis was fantastic today across half forward. Works well in tandem with Watts and Pressador. Champion was injured.

As a side note, I had a real close look at Cameron Wood, the 17 year old ruckman with the Westies and he is a nice prospect. Really skinny but does have a dip and good skills. Might be worth looking at him come draft time. ;)

Thanks for the reports guys.....I actually go to school with Fergus' brother so its good to hear that he is doing well

I remember seeing footage from the U18 championships where he took one absolute screamer of a pack mark. If he doesnt take the mark he smashes the packs open and brings the ball to ground for the crumbers

Well I think Fergus is dead set going to be a top line AFL CHF. I love the way he plays, which Stiffy has described beautifully.

Tell us a bit about his brother, if you don't mind?? How old, who he plays for, position, strengths, style of player etc

The way Fergus plays, I'd even draft his sister!!! ;)
