wouldn't it be amazing if the crows picked him up for free via the PSD! I guess you just never know with those young tall key forwards...

he alway's had questions over his body development. but geezus there'd have to be a small chance we'd pick him up if he wanted to come.

You're joking. I cant say I'm sad. I honestly thought he would make it now that Gherig is gone. I wonder if he puts himself in the PSD with Whitnall now.
watts is a chf/hf not a ff, too slow. Thats why it was such a strange decision to go to the saints (apart from daddy being there)

He was stupid enough to think he would get a game ahead of Rie and Kosi at the Saints. I think his career is over, only has himself to blame.:D

1 game with the Saints in Round 1 of 2005 but I think he got injured in that game. If he had stayed in Adelaide he would have shined much brighter. Problem is we have lost more players under request more than any other club in recent years and most of them went to losing clubs. And only one player made the right descision to leave was Tyson Stenglein. Kane Johnson has been nothing but a loser at Richmond when it comes to success. While we got Torney who was valuable for a few years we got nothing for Stinger.

People hate playing at Adelaide because they simply can't win when it counts most and because they have made too many bad descisions. After the most frustrating year ever (2007) in team history this team is in huge danger in losing supporters over the next few years if it continues to make bad descisions. I think we betta miss the Finals next year to improve our chances in picking up a key position player.

I always felt you were a Port supporter in disguise...now I think you may be a Carlton fan

;)

I would more than take him back. I forgive very easily.

Come back Fergus.

same here id welcome him back with open arms. Id like to see him running around in the number 6 again.

woodville would also welcome him back with open arms...

When the Crows drafted him in 2004 he didn’t have a lot of pace to begin with and after he broke his leg in 2006 he lost a truck load more. Playing at a key forward I suspect he would be too slow for a role in any AFL side now and it would be a mistake if he was given another go.

I always liked Fergus and was disappointed with him when he left but his AFL days have passed by and he will only be a good VFL player now.

Too slow for the AFL now, he will never make it and it will be a waste.

Lets look forward people.

I for one don't want him back.

He pissed off after his 2 years were up, and after his leg break he's even slower than he was already.

You had your chance Ferg.

I agree. I can't see the point of drafting Watts when we want to give the likes of Tippett & Sellar some game time.

The funny thing is I believe if he is picked up he would go into the SANFL bidding system. Could end up at Westies?

I thought about getting him for 3/4 a second, then thought - na - screw you!

Guys, c'mon. What we should do is commit to drafting him in the PSD. Offer him a contract. Nothing flash, but it'll get him back into the AFL system. At the end of the day, the kid just wants a chance to play in the AFL and he probably now realises that he blew a good chance with us.

Then when the PSD comes along. SIC! Pick up some other guy to fill in our list. For as forgiving as Drummond is, I am brutal and vindictive. :p

Has anyone actually seen him play recently?

If the ability is still there, I would consider taking him again.

I hold no grudges, this is a business, if Fergs can help us win a premiership I'd take him.

But I havent seen him play recently so have no idea of his abilities.

Broke his leg in the VFL last year and has had 5 operations on his ankle since.

He's shot.

watts, meesen, pfeiffer - we got some great returns from 3 years worth of 1st round picks. maybe we should trade ours every year? matthew clarke and scott thompson gave us a lot more than these early picks...

The guy is a ripping bloke and not lazy in the least. He, like many young players Adelaide has given a home to, simply wanted to go home. Give the kid a break, his dream may have just been shattered and you lot are sticking the boots in. He gave your club two years service which he was contracted to do and left on good terms as far as I know, delivering a decent pick as compensation.

You expect us to feel sorry for him? He was a high draft pick that the club invested 2 years in for nothing. He didn't leave on good terms at all, even nominating the club that we had to trade him to, and thus limiting our bargaining power, just because his Dad worked there. We got a lower draft pick than we paid for him but I'm sure he couldn't have cared less if we got nothing at all.

No-one wants to see serious injuries so yeah we're sorry he broke his leg, but as far as being delisted - poetic justice.
