Pretty funny reading through my newsfeed with everyone complaining about how stupid a show it is and how pointless it is and that they're only watching it ironically or to make themselves feel better about their lives. I didn't watch it. To borrow one of my dad's well worn phrases, "I'd rather stick my head up a dead dog's arse." It is getting depressing listening to the news and seeing how damn stupid and reliant on the government out society is becoming.

the inability of people to parent their children is a disgrace and truly reflects how self absorbent society has become.

I have never been able to comprehend why anybody would watch reality TV of their own free will, and last night did nothing to further my understanding.

In fact, I’d substitute “reality TV” for “free to air TV”.

On Monday night the ABC has 7.30, Australian Story, Four Corners, Media Watch and Q&A. Channel 10 has Masterchef, The Shire, NCIS and The Finder (what the hell is the finder). Don't you just love commercial television.

Aus tv will reach it's lowest ebb when the Brynne Edelstein show starts. The Shire is putrid crap. Wonder if ch9 will have a reality show for Hackett's missus Candace Alley they could call it Sticky Fingers in the Alley

I live in the area so I had to watch it. Some observations:

1. Those two brunette bimbos are not a representation of the show. The closest are the rich kids and the girlfriend. But even then this is a minority.

2. My hooker beacon goes off whenever that Bekka chick is on the screen.

3. Lots of locals have complained about the show not being a true representation. Whilst true, these people should think themselves lucky. Everyone whose been to Cronulla knows it isn't like that. The 3 hookers could have come from anywhere in Sydney. More a representation of ****wits than a representation of Cronulla. If they had shown the real Cronulla they would have had some bigots on it. You can't see it openly. But get to know a lot of people and they don't like foreigners. There's even foreigners who go live there because they don't foreigners either.

4. Just bad TV. Excrutiatingly bad. Clearly scripted. They made a mistake of not plying them with alcohol and providing a laugh for everyone. They wanted to do this but the Council and Police went around to every establish and told them if they let them in for filming and the "subjects" got drunk they'd book them all for allowing people to be drunk on their premises. It was pretty much "do that, and we'll make you life hell and jeopardise your license." The show tries to pick on The Shire (a worthy recipient) but the truth is this is a representation of young losers and could be anywhere.
