Fev back off the wagon

Too many journos = so many non-stories

I don't think anyone would begrudge him a beer after that game

The fact that he has been drinking isn't new, nor is it a surprise.

He's allowed to have a drink with his teammates after a great win, such as on the weekend, or a few at home.

He knows now that he has to stop though before he crosses the line to being too drunk to be able to control your actions.

2.30am ????

Not the first time he's had a late one recently from what I've been hearing.

Ticking time bomb.

Stop trying to build this up into more than it is - you're sounding worse than many a journalist in that regard.

So he stayed up late and went out for the night? That is only a concern if he caused problems, which he did not.

Footballers stay out late all the time and that goes unreported. It's only news-worthy if they cause trouble or if they are a big name player, such as Brendan. Do you think that if Fev wasn't out, the media would have continued with an article on Cam Cloke and Eddie Betts going out for the night? I think not.

They had just won a huge match in the context of our season, and against our biggest rivals in Collingwood nonetheless. It would be expected that they have a bit of a celebration after - because quite frankly, they deserve it.

If it was Didak, it would be a big deal

Fev peed on a window... he decided to pull his own head in. He is a big boy, and as long as he is responsible, everyone should get off his case

I agree that for anyone else it would be a matter of 'who cares' except :

a) Fev said he would no longer be having any more big nights out.
b) I don't think the club would be happy with him out at 2.30am.
c) Trouble seems to follow Fevola and footballers out after 1.00am are putting themselves at risk. Something Fevola should definitely be avoiding given his predicament.
d) The appearance being given is that Fevola has treated everyone (Greg Swan included) as fools for actually believing him last March.

a) 230am and a couple of drinks is not a big night out
b) did carlton tell you this. What where there feelings on eddie and cam being out?
c) Just because there areidiots in the world fev shouldnt go and have some fun like the rest of the communty. He just needs to react the right way when something does happen. And obviously he did otherwise there would have been a bigger story
d) He has done nothing wrong. Broke no law. Carlton may be thrilled that he was with other players and not alone

The article says until 230am. I ouldnt be suprised if the journo lost an hour somewhere and it was actually a little early than that when they left.

We are all missing the most important part of this article. Who the hell does the irish rugby team think they are. They she some dam respect when they come here. They can leave te pub and doggies can stay. Unbelievable :p

So you're happy with him lying to Greg Swann ?

Put it this way, what do you think the powers that be at Carlton would think reading this today ?

Agreed that it's not usually a big deal but this is a bloke who is on his last chance and swore off grog and partying.

Does he have any willpower or brains whatsoever?

I think everyone knows the answer to that one.

I would imagine that a big night out equates to getting trashed of your face. If Fev didn't do this, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with him going out to celebrate a great win.

b) I don't think the club would be happy with him out at 2.30am.

Let's let the club decide that, hey?

c) Trouble seems to follow Fevola and footballers out after 1.00am are putting themselves at risk. Something Fevola should definitely be avoiding given his predicament.

They aren't much more at risk than most other people. If they stay quiet, which Fevola clearly was, then odds are nothing will happen. And that is exactly the case.

d) The appearance being given is that Fevola has treated everyone (Greg Swan included) as fools for actually believing him last March.

That's just a media beat-up, which you are assisting. I'm sure Swann doesn't mind Fev going out to celebrate, nor do I think his teammates mind. He's not going to be treated like a social outcast within his own club. He's allowed to go out, just not to make a fool of himself in public because of being under the influence of alcohol.

This is a complete non-issue. Why aren't you making a fuss about the Bulldogs players who actually did enough to cause trouble and were asked to leave? Because it's Fevola?

How do you know he lied to Swann? Because of what the media reports? Dear me :o

Fev didn't have a big night out. He didn't get smashed. He didn't cause trouble. There's nothing wrong with what he did, so there's nothing to worry about.

Dare I say that Swann would be fairly pleased that Fev realizes he can still go out and enjoy himself with his teammates after a great win, without getting drunk beyond reason and causing trouble.

Confidential understands a couple of the Bulldogs were asked to leave the club so inter-code tensions didn't explode on the dance floor.

Apparently Giansiricusa challenged Brian O'Driscoll to a walk off...at least that's the story going around.

No prob with him having a beer, but dont say you are not gonna have one if you clearly are going to have one.
Simple.
Then you dont get threrads like this and journos looking for u to slip up.

Good footy players can get away with anything.:thumbsu:

Brendan Fevola is too important player to the Carlton Revolution 2008 model to have any restrictions placed on his nocturnal activates.
:D

e) you've got way too much time on your hands

That article was hilarious :thumbsu:

You can tell he's been drinking by the way he's been playing the past few weeks, he's looked tired, usually for Fev it's a sign he's been on the turps.

He's just kicked 8 goals.

If anyone looks tired, it's Buddy, and we all know what that may mean

Get out of this thread. It is a serious topic and doesn't need pre-pubescent trolls like you ruining it.
