I am a partner.

Oh and you clearly don't understand how law firms work - that sort of thing is par for the course.

How does a law firm work, I don't understand either, in my industry we don't shag our colleagues, too freaking busy, who's got the time ????

Clearly I;m in the wrong industry,

The onion sorting industry has traditionally been a brutal mix of frantic activity and soul-destroying loneliness, Bluegirl. :(

No I am happily married and would never cheat.

Corporate law firms revolve around three discussion points - sport, alcohol (usually wine) and sex.

Very sad but true.

AFL will hang Fev!

I say **** all of you namby pambies. BRING THE BAD BOY BACK TO MELBOURNE! All aboard the Fev train!

In all seriousness, we got a decent deal for sending him to Brisbane... If we could get him for nothing in the draft, then why the **** not? What Fev does on the weekend does not bother me in the slightest.

OP is trollin.

Actually I wasn't. Not that I'm above a bit of trolling, but not this time.

I just remembered this time 11 months ago when there were heaps of Carlton fans slamming the club, not renewing membership etc over the decision to trade him. I just wanted to see how the sentiment had changed.

Get him back because he's cheap? Surely people here jest.

That would be like paying a bunch of money to have a talented surgeon remove a cancerous tumor from your body, then accepting an offer to have the tumor put back in for nothing.

seriously wtf are some people thinking.

Regardless of how true the incident is, Fev's gone. The Retreads are itching for a reason to sack him, and are in Dirt-Digging mode now. I was surprised how much detail they gave out at the press conference even though it was still an "alleged incident". Their intention is very clear. There is zero chance he'll be wearing one of those hilarious Paddle-Pop jumpers again. I suspect they'll also ban Voss from being involved in Trade Week as well after what happened last year.

:)

Only on weekends....during the week I spend my time as a corporate lawyer.

But seriously maybe it is just a generation y thing but sex in a public place isn't that big of a deal to me. When I was at uni myself and one of the girls I studied law with used to kill 2 hours between a lecture and a tute at night by having a shag in the botanical gardens in Brisbane. Granted you could pick a spot at night private where people couldn't see what you were doing but I find it hard to judge someone getting it on in a public place if it is discrete. Have you never joined the mile high club? I flew first class with Emirates to Hong Kong and bought the wife on a business trip just so we could try out the first class suite.

If you are a lawyer, you would know more than most that some professions come with additional responsibilities. For example, there is a big difference between sleeping with a girl and a girl who is a client.....you are bound by professional ethics, just like a person who is a public figure is bound by ethics. It would be an interesting discussion exactly what those ethics are, but needless to say, if you were Fev, you would have thought long and hard about that question. taking your dick out in public would be one of those things that you would tend to avoid I would have thought?

Not quite - It would more be like getting payed to have a tumor taken out, and then some quack from Queensland asking if you'd like the tumor put back in 12 months later, with all the associated health concerns.

Sounds good to me, where do I sign :)

Then why the **** not?

I'll tell you why the **** not - because we didn't give him up because "we got a decent deal" from the Lions.

How cheap we could get him is completely irrelevant.

There is absolutely no chance that Fevola will be playing for Carlton ever again. And to be honest, anyone that thinks otherwise is a ****ing moron.

This "incident" seems a little suspect. First up, ALL of Fev's incidents have been alcohol related. Every single one of them. This one wasn't. Selwood is backing up Fev's version of events as well. It's also a little strange that the Lions are revealing so much about an alleged incident at their press conference. The usual practice is to not go into any specifics until an investigation has been carried out. Is there a chance the Retreads are looking for a reason to sack Fev because of their current salary cap crisis?

:)

'Fevola's antics show he's a dinosaur from another era'

Even that might have been accommodated in the climate which prevailed 20 years ago. In today's AFL, where players spend far more work hours in the company of their colleagues and peer influence is even more important, setting the tone for an entire list, such narcissism is a cancer. Just ask Carlton.

"It's not just the stuff that gets in the papers," said one exasperated club official earlier this year, ''it's the constant battles with him about everything.

"You'd be interstate, there might be some activity like just a game of mini-golf, which everyone had to do, and he'd just go, 'I'm not doing it'. Then someone else says: 'Well, if he's not doing it, I'm not doing it', and so on.

"It's not necessarily his fault he was a domineering character here. He was charismatic, and he was bloody good. But the same bloke would walk around the gym and have a go at guys because they were doing extra weights or something. You don't need that sort of crap, and we don't have to worry about it any more. Life's so much easier."
That last little tale would surely worry even those who believed Fevola has been nothing more than a victim of a media thirst for footballers behaving badly.

It's all the stuff within the club that we're not aware of, forget about the booze etc, the disruptive influence, bullying the young guys, how were we ever going to move forward with a senior player controlling the mood of the group, unfortunately in the bleak days the club somewhat rode on Fev's back, there;s no denying he'a a talent, but at what cost.
Buyer beware.

Think the Retreads have handled this situation poorly yet again. The way they're responded was on the presumption of guilt. Now that's fine if he turns out to be guilty, BUT if it's a beat-up then they're left with a disgruntled FF on their list, chewing up 2 mill over the next 2 years and there's nothing they can do about it.

If the AFL deregister him Brisbane dont have to pay his contract out.

So hypothetically, Fev is turfed out of Brissie and is available for cheaps in the draft. Do we want him back?

You are really having a lend of us all here arent you? Ive seen this thread for days and finally decided to open it, wow should have days ago its so funny. Agree he didnt want to leave Carlton and i think regrets it bigtime now, but you had more than your fair share of chances Fev and you blew it, looks like you have just done it again at Brisbane.
