You are really having a lend of us all here arent you? Ive seen this thread for days and finally decided to open it, wow should have days ago its so funny. Agree he didnt want to leave Carlton and i think regrets it bigtime now, but you had more than your fair share of chances Fev and you blew it, looks like you have just done it again at Brisbane.

Actually done nothing wrong at Brisbane yet and I'm guessing after this he will still have done nothing wrong.

As for wanting him back, well I put him in the bracket of other 30yos and that'd be no unless we wanted someone to fill the position we needed. Might have early in the year but Waite and Hendo are fitting in the KP forward position nicely. Tarrant at 30 would be more valuable as he would fill CHB for us. No point taking Fev back now, especially now his adductor and his bone have gone separate ways.

What I would find funny if we did take him back we'd force Brisbane to pay alot of the salary for a bloke that was "ours" anyway.

:o

Do you light a candle for Fevola every night and pray that he'll come home? :p :D

There was an incident at a hotel earlier in the year where Fevola was allegedly sent on his way by the police.

Fevola was out at a club as part of his recovery from surgery two weeks ago.

Will always be a dead shit.

Though he's good with the kids.

The Retreads are desperately looking for an "out". Even if this incident was a setup (very possible), there is no way on Earth we'd consider Fev. Some other teams might though. But groin injuries like that often take a solid 12 months to get over. Wherever he ends up, I reckon he'll struggle next year. The Lions need to learn from this nightmare and just ban Vossy from Trade Week.

:)

A lot is 2 words (my Lit teacher would kill you)
Were you one of the few at the Princes Park Fev protest?

The "look the other way" policy that largely prevailed at Carlton over at least the formative years of his development, coupled with a fawning mob cultivated by the advent of football celebritydom, were in Fev's case a disastrous combination, one which spawned a destructive sense of entitlement.

Even that might have been accommodated in the climate which prevailed 20 years ago. In today's AFL, where players spend far more work hours in the company of their colleagues and peer influence is even more important, setting the tone for an entire list, such narcissism is a cancer. Just ask Carlton.

I don't know what era Rohan Connolly's writing comes from, but I'm pretty sure narcissism results in drowning not cancer. Rohan's entitled to his opinion. I blame The Age's "look the other way" policy.

My blood boiled hearing John Elliott dispense advice about politics, Fevola and other matters. A bit rich coming from the man who ran Carlton and other businesses into the ground. Jack can't even run companies. Jack would have offered the mother and the journalist $5000 to disappear.

The Retreads are a total disaster. Why on Earth did their CEO come out so hard against Fev publicly before all the facts appeared. Grand scale stupidity. The public perception now is that they are looking for an excuse to terminate Fev's contract because of self-inflicted salary cap pressures. In the process they've alienated the player group, and forced at least 1 and possibly 2 players to leave. Instead of trying to sack Fev, their board should perhaps be turning their attention to the CEO and Vossy's performance.

have I missed something?

I'm glad Fev is gone but this wreaks of a set-up.

Whilst he is a clown and has done a lot of questionable things in his time, Fev has always been a pretty honest bloke and if he says it didn't happen the way this woman has portrayed it, then I would back him.

Brisbane have overreacted.

Honest in the sense that he admits when he has done wrong.

He'd be stupid to deny these allegations if it did actually happen. The truth always comes out.

still blames CFC and the footy show for his departure from the Blues
And as this will end up in a she said he said argument of course you would deny it

My understanding is that Bono plays a bit from behind also. :)
One must keep their options open. (Don't ask me to define options, please)
I thought Larry was the gay icon. Perhaps David Bowie and Lou Reed rubbed off on Bono

Hey all,

Can someone tell me if its better or worse is Fevola gets sacked (for the carlton football club)

Do we get some money back (if we're still paying some this yr?

cheers/

Probably better if he doesn't get sacked, especially if we are after Brennan. We may save a slight amount from our cap ($50-100k), but this is negligible compared to the $1.9mil our competitor has to pay over the next 2 years, as in what is bad for our competitiors is good for us. If Fev doesn't get sacked, the Lions cannot keep Brennan.

Well, it's pretty clear what's going to happen now....

1. The Retreads will sack Fev.

2. Fev's lawyers will take the Retreads to court claiming unfair dismissal

3. After a few months a confidential out-of-court settlement will be made

It all depends on how fast this happens. If it gets settled early, then he'll probably nominate for the PSD.

:)

I'm glad this isn't our fight to fight any more.

Looks like Fev is completely stuffed.

I note the TV networks continue to have our logo in the background when discussing any of his off-field discretions. It appears they haven't grasped the concept of the trade being permanent and his current behaviour being the responsibility of himself and his current club.

Was sad to see Fev go and sadder to see where he is drifting to. In no way would I welcome him back as a player to our club. As an ex-player, I would welcome him back as I would any other. We are better for him being gone from the club.
