So he was found guilty of something was he? What was the "doozy"... you know the facts do you?:D

Allegedly a doozy, I should have said.

Nope no facts here my friend. :D

better hope a jb or a mitch clarke dont have a dual diagnosis roblem and require treatment.

cause get that big broom out,, watch your self players. you get sick you are outta here.

So everything to do with Fevola is completely out of his control and the Lions should assume full responsibility. That's some buck passing. I wish I had a super rich mother at 30.

You are simply describing the culture of AFL as it exists now. If you get a serious illness, called an injury, and you get it often, you are cut. That is the business of AFL. Why is Fevola's 'illness' any different to Jesse Smith's?

just confirms brisbane as the laughing stock of the AFL.

Hard to instill a good culture when your own coach himself is a street thug

Ah, there's the balanced viewpoint I was searching for.

Well, that does my three-monthly visit to this board. Good to see things don't change. See you all in another three.

And there's the rub. You're itching to take a shot and want a bit of ammo.

Look, you'll probably get it, but will it be the truth?

Don't take my position as being pro what my club has done. Nor am I anti. It's not an easy siutation and I don't envy our board one bit.

I just get amused when people get so high and mighty about not knowing exact facts when it's none of their business. And the Main Board is full of them,
How am I itching to take a shot? Brisbane issued a statement explaining their actions. I saw their explaination as misleading and incorrect. I'm asking for further explanation. And so far the performance by the administration has been, in my opinion at least, incompetent.

Stating things like that isn't "taking a shot". It's asking questions and offering opinion.

truth hurts doesn't it....

It's not the reporting of him being sacked. Clubs make those announcements all the time and have a duty to report list changes to their members.

I'm just interested that people are getting antsy at not knowing the full story.

You sack a man who is a public figure at a time in his life when he needs as much support personally as possible for quite possibly the biggest challenge of his life... people want to know why he was deserted by his club.

Most Brisbane supporters on this thread have vented their disgust at his treatment by their club... you want to get on some kind of mission about why should people be interested in the full story... what business is it of theirs etc.

It's ridiculous - you could take that garbage arguement to any thread on Bigfooty... yet you, a VET member of Bigfooty, want to get all high and mighty about people wanting to discuss the facts in a current football story! What business is it of yours? Why are you even on Bigfooty if you think no one deserves any facts?

Why do you see it as incorrect? Are you privy to a greater set of facts than has been released in the media that they know about?
Well if an AFL player had committed "serious and persistent breaches of contract", it's almost guaranteed they would've been reported. Especially if they're serious enough to be sacked mid-contract. I've neither seen nor heard any "serious or persistent breaches of contract". Hence I see it as misleading and incorrect. Which is why I'm asking if anyone can explain what these breaches are.

Why is it 'almost guaranteed' that they will be reported?

Players still get up to far more than is reported in the media, that most clubs come to know about. This is especially the case in the northern states.

I can't believe you are still having to explain to people why the facts are important to the story???

What is going on??? (Or can't I ask that for fear that I might be asking a fact!)

This is Brendan Fevola. He was being photographed cos he was making a phone call on the street the other week. "serious breach" implies he showed up drunk to training or belted a teammate or something of that ilk. Am I not allowed to ask for further explanation from Brisbane?

fev gone.. according to the age

what happens if during the investigation into his arrest on nye, it is discovered that the officer involved had overstepped the boundaries and ends up getting suspended for inappropriate behaviour and feb's arrest is quashed.

what has he done between the failed attempt at a flashing charge and nye to warrant being sacked.

i'm guessing that because they are going to pay him out, they know they are on feeble ground. but they simply don't want him at the club anymore.

I am a Brisbane member and I want to know that as well. But hey, they feel they can offload players for no reasons, except they cost too much.

I wonder if all our players will be held to the same lofty standards as this?

You are sure allowed to ask. Saying that they are incorrect is another matter.

Consider this. Everyone in their 20s around Perth knew Cousins had a drug problem well before any hint of it started to appear in the media. Many of the things he got up to could have constituted a serious breach of contract. Same goes for Jeff Farmer or Heath Black and their various alcohol and violence issues. Some was reported, but a lot wasn't. The clubs often knew, but chose to ignore it.

Fev might not be able to step outside now without a photo being taken of him, but how many goings on do you think there were on the lead up to the decision being made?

As a recruiter J Brown makes a great footballer. Interesting that Voss is rightly copping much deserved flak but that Graeme Allan has to this stage pretty much avoided scrutiny given that it has been reported that as the then Lions Footy Manager he approved the trade.

So if you all don't have the "facts", how is it you feel ok about sitting in judgement of our club?
We have been through this before. Wait for the formal story. It has been announced that there will be a presser tomorrow.
Have you stopped to consider that the "real" reasons for the sacking could be more damaging to Fevola if made public.

So on one hand you are saying "we don't know why" and then in the next breath you declare it was the wrong thing to do.

Campbell. This is my take.

The AFL want him gone. Brisbane have over paid him and wanted out. The AFL will help out with the salary cap issues as a trade off. Everyone wins bar Fev playing football. Fev will still get his money.

His health is another issue but on face value it doesn't seem to have been a concern for those making the decision.

When he came up ere, the media camped outside his place. Unheard of up here. We heard it all , when his wife left, they showed the removals van pulling out. His kids stuff the lot. He couldnt fart without it making the news.

No other AFL or NRL player has had that attention in Qld.
