For the last 10+ years he has been an AFL player at the highest level. This is what he does best. He currently has a contract with your club to play there for the next 2 years. You will be denying him the chance to continue being an AFL player at the highest level -.

Chance?????????
got himself suspended.
got himself in debt.
got himself arrested.
booked himself into rehab.

I'm still miffed at what justification the lions will give to be able to sever his contract. He's only had the new years incident at his time in Brisbane hasn't he, all the rest were disproved.
I think there's more at stake than Fev's football career ATM. The guy is basically struggling to come to terms with numerous addictions and is quite isolated in terms of family and friends in Brisbane.

a few pertinent points.

whats has a persin debt got to do with losing your playing career.
he was out mucking around at new years time, a lot do t. pubic afray is not a sacking offense.

he is not in rehab.
he is in a mental health facility for a depressive illness.

IMO our club are a disgrace for even thinking of sacking him.

He is in need of structure and support and work gives him that.

He is a far better option on the forward line than the rabble we dished up last night.

Not being a nazi to expect basic literacy and the ability to correctly spell words with three letters. But perhaps just staying out of jail is enough of an achievement for the collingwood faithful.

Spell checks are the lowest form of posting... and a spelling nazi is exactly what you have proved to be.

Hears a cowple more speling mistakes for u... so you can stay involved in the topic????

Richmond should recruit him.

Imagine a Riewoldt and Fevola combo.

Glad they took the risk on Cousins, and Fev falls in the same category.

No thanks. Why don't you write to Jeff and suggest they pick him up if you want him?

Sorry i haven't been paying much attention to this thread.

Is it confirmed or just speculation?

Caroline Wilson has confirmed it so...

No. Not confirmed.

But it appears Fev twittered "Any club need a Full forward?" (or something like that)

Huge gambling problem which our club is supporting him through.

Bringing a club and the game into disrepute....again.

he is not in rehab.
he is in a mental health facility for a depressive illness.
Has anyone seen a medical report to evidence this.
Some here are big on pushing the mental illness barrow
but anyone who puts their hand up wanting help is not
automatically mentally ill.

IMO our club are a disgrace for even thinking of sacking him.
Not afraid to say "team first"

He is in need of structure and support and work gives him that.
He can get another job

He is a far better option on the forward line than the rabble we dished up last night.
Not when he is unfit and feeling sorry for himself as he was for most of last season.

Look, don't get me wrong. I am not a Fev hater. Ideally I would love to see him fit and firing in our forward line.
But he isn't, and largely due to his own doing. So to keep him is a HUGE
risk. One which I defer to our club board and coaching staff to make the call on. If they do sack him then that is fine with me. If not then they had better get him up and running. Footy is a job and if he can't do his job then
he has to go. Sad but there it is.
Yes the club has a responsibility, but I believe they have met that obligation. He is not a rookie he needs to take responsibility too. And before you say "he is seeking help", he has had 10 years to curb his behavior.
Our club said at the end of his days at Carlton "we will give you a go as long as you behave". Well??

Incidently I won't believe Caro until the Lions make an announcement.

Couldnt of put it better myself.:thumbsu:

The lions are doing themselves more harm than good by cutting him..

Fev has had more lives than a litter of cats. If it is too much for the Lions to deal with then they should get rid of him if his net contribution to the club is a negative one.

They should avoid trying to do a St Kilda and screw him out of payments, that can be a hard sell.

Is it his fault the media kept shoving the Fev antics down our throats?
Blaming Fevs issues on the media is a cop out. He is thirty years old - his problems are his own doing. Besides, there is an easy way for Fevola to stop the medias constant reporting of his antics, and that is stop getting himself caught up in mess after mess.

No less of a huge risk than taking him on in the first place.

The Lions knew precisely what they were getting with Fevola and it has, unsurprisingly, blown up in their faces.

Well he does fit the aged recruit policy we have going :p

He would be third in line after buddy and roughy though!

I would have thought Richmond could do with another key forward.

Connors could be his mentor:p

Can someone tell me just what was so bad that he did that he deserves to get sacked? I've kept up with this since the start but I still don't understand. Maybe he just gets in the papers too much.

The Lions haven't sacked him so much as the media have destroyed his career in the past 5 years. Shame on them.

That's right.
And by the way everyone, he hasn't even been sacked.
he hasn't even been sacked.
he hasn't even been sacked.
he hasn't even been sacked.

But throw stones in each direction Fev , Media, Lions..
he hasn't even been sacked.

I hope Caro's dubious journalistic record continues here, if only 'cause losing Fev would be a shame. From all reports he's a knob, but he adds a bit of excitement to a game that is populated by cliche-spitting robots. He can do the extraordindary. Still, it's only his fault as he's thrown away it all. Carlton have bent them over the trade table and are now pulling down their pants.

Why do you think he twittered "Anyone need a full forward"?

Fev bloody throwing stones again... that's it, SACK HIM!
