Dammit now we'll have to start a new rumour...

Has Jonathan Brown resigned with the Lions yet? ....:p
Dunno about the rest of you but I am delighted!... (Fev not coming to Sydney!) that would be a huge risk!

Good point newbie (welcome:thumbsu:).... absolute chalk and chesse!!!! ( the two players)

.....and if both cost similiar or even if Brown was double 9999999.99% of any judge of football would prefer Brown in a heart beat!

Dunno about anyone else but that whole Fev to Sydney thing really pissed me off. The guy obviously never held any talks with the swans and went around spouting his mouth off about being offered huge money at an event where he knew there would be lots of media types around who would then report it so he could gain some leverage in his contract negotiations. Given that it would be completely illeagal for Sydney to be holding such talks with Fev I think the club should have come out and blasted him in the media.

Complete and utter unsubstantiated crap, the media beat this issue up and its only because Sydney have a reputation for taking nut cases and straightening them out, and a ordinary forward line that they got a guernsey as a possible destination.

Dont believe everything you read in the papers sonny jim:)

Mate, have a look every year. Nearly any 'star' out of contract player gets linked to the Swans. This happens year on year.

We are sick of being the bargaining chip.

I hope you're not saying we have an ordinary forward line. Outside of Fevola, we'd have you covered.

Well I quoted the post I was referring to:rolleyes:.

Fev didnt make any comment about the swans at the boxing, that was the media, and it was Barnes who said that his mate saw Goodes with Fev at breakfast which was again, complete BS.

And as for the poor swannies being linked with out of contract players, dont cry about it. I cant see how that would affect your club in the least.

By the way, those posters suggesting that players/managers are not contacted about maybe switching clubs whilst in the last year of their current contracts are deluded.:D

I agree but I also think that people who don't believe players and their managers conspire to start rumors about trades to other clubs in order to jack up their prices are also deluded. A few years ago when Akermanis was negotiating a contract with the lions he told the media that Sydney were interested in him only to admit after re-signing with the lions that it was a ploy to gain some leverage.

The John Barnes thing reeked of complete BS but when you consider that the stories of Fev spouting off about the swans offering him big money came from more than one source makes you think that there may have been something to it.

At the end of the day if Fev was trying to jack up his price then it was smart on his behalf and he probably earned an extra hundred thousand or so but it just gets annoying to hear every out of contract big name supposedly in talks with your club.
