McVeigh was very very good today. However, there are very few players that are untouchable. He is not one of them.
yes, he was very good today, lifted on recent weeks
no, he is not untouchable

so let's discuss what kind of deal would sway these people who think he IS untouchable?

what if a melbourne club wanted to trade a key defender ... say, north and drew petrie or the pies and tyson goldsack or carlton and brett thornton, or even port and troy chaplin (i don;t think any of these are in any way plausible), and a deal was worked out that involved one of our mids, say mcveigh or buchanan, and an exchange of draft picks....
i'm playing devil's advocate here
what would people think?

If Fev does become a swan I hope a few of the boys line him up during training as a square up for some of his late hits today.

Petrie or Thornton I reckon I'd take in a heartbeat as a straight swap for McVeigh or Buchanan and would probably even be tempted to swap both.

My list would be....

Kirk
Goodes
RyanO
C. Bolton
MOL
Jolly
I agree with that list, i'm not writing hall off yet either and if mcveigh can string a few performances together like he did today then i would add him to that list... wishful thinking...

I definitely, definitely DEFINITELY rate ryano over fevola. Not many non swans do but okeefes consistent work ethic is amazing, today was another example of that, I would not be happy if we traded okeefe for fevola, no way.

I actually suggested the idea of trading ROK and Davis to Carlton for Fev but after todays game I feel a little guilty and while I still think Fevola would be a huge asset to us you can't underestimate the team lifting abilities of a guy like O'keefe who runs his guts out all day. Fev and RyanO both had opportunities to win the game for their team in that last quater but one of them wanted it more. The result of the match leaves no doubt as to who it was.

Fev being Fev would stay at Carlton anyway .. they're on their way up. No way he'd leave a potential dynasty at Carlton anyway.

*Well said MF :) I can't help but think what would've happened had RyanO not gone off in the third..
