Pretty happy with the way the club has handled this. One more alcohol related incident, and he is gawn! The guy is 27, surely he realises the signifigance of this now.

Well done Carlton Football Club.

Hmmmm, wish I shared your confidence :(

Carlton should have a 1am curfew like Melbourne has which showed didn;t work they got problems with a player there
the whole team no matter what should be told any incidents like that and theres the door seeya later

how precious some sound! I couldn't care less if the boys are out to 4am loaded on cocaine and strippers as long as they're performing for the team and supporters at training and on game day that's all I'm worried about.

It's not the media who have made the players robots these days, its the public. Players are so boring now... every interview is the same, every response is the same. I can't work out how people bag players like Fev, sure he's a goose but the AFL needs a few gooses, a few characters (e.g Aker - whatever your take on him, he's good for the game and tells it how it is, something that is rarely done these days..).

I'm sick of seeing an interview and learning nothing, just plain old calculated boring responses. People need to remember they're just footballers not politicians. Don't be so f***ing precious!

Get serious! Take a leaf out of Geelongs book (Steven Johnson) and you might challenge for a flag in the next few years.

Soft by Carlton:thumbsdown:

BINGO, give the man a prize :thumbsu::)

We want to punish him, not torture him ;) Pretty sure number 4 contravenes international law.

Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War
Adopted on 12 August 1949 by the Diplomatic Conference for the Establishment of
International Conventions for the Protection of Victims of War, held in Geneva
from 21 April to 12 August, 1949
entry into force 21 October 1950
PART I

GENERAL PROVISIONS

Article 1

The High Contracting Parties undertake to respect and to ensure respect for the present Convention in all circumstances.

Article 2

In addition to the provisions which shall be implemented in peace time, the present Convention shall apply to all cases of declared war or of any other armed conflict which may arise between two or more of the High Contracting Parties, even if the state of war is not recognized by one of them.

The Convention shall also apply to all cases of partial or total occupation of the territory of a High Contracting Party, even if the said occupation meets with no armed resistance.

Although one of the Powers in conflict may not be a party to the present Convention, the Powers who are parties thereto shall remain bound by it in their mutual relations. They shall furthermore be bound by the Convention in relation to the said Power, if the latter accepts and applies the provisions thereof.

Article 3

In the case of armed conflict not of an international character occurring in the territory of one of the High Contracting Parties, each party to the conflict shall be bound to apply, as a minimum, the following provisions:

1. Persons taking no active part in the hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause, shall in all circumstances be treated humanely, without any adverse distinction founded on race, colour, religion or faith, sex, birth or wealth, or any other similar criteria.

To this end the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever with respect to the above-mentioned persons:

(a) Violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture;

(b) Taking of hostages;

(c) Outrages upon personal dignity, in particular, humiliating and degrading treatment;

(d) The passing of sentences and the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples.

Brilliant :D:thumbsu:.

I bet if it was a lesser player, he would have been suspended.

Exactly like the Didak stuff last year at collingwood.. clubs don't care what players get upto, as long as they perform on the field

Yes and then Steven Johnson was caught driving almost three times over the speed limit- The "discipline" handed out by Geelong really seems to have worked.

Anyone listening to this clown on SEN Mark Fine speaking nothing but shit about how carlton mucked up and should of gone the way of geelong....................WAKE UP YOU DEADSHIT Fevola wasnt behind the wheel of a car endangering the lives of others on the roads at reckless speeds. So Fev pissed on a window? A certain scumbag over at your rabble (StKilda) pissed on a chick.

$10,000 dollars
Dropped from leadership group
Last chance given ( Swann will keep his word)
Rehab provided to him.
He will not drink during this season.........his words.

Seems enough punishment to me...................to all these w***ers who want Fev dropped for no other reason then to see carlton struggle............GET A LIFE.

I agree with everything you said, however i think the issue is more that he was out at 4:30am in the morning, not the act of pissing on the window.
IMO, we punished him accordingly especially about the last chance part.

If he does something like this again, then he might as well be given the flick and the club can move on. if he can repent, and play out the rest of his career without incident (touch wood ) then the culture of the club will not be affected and the actions taken by the club will be proven right in hindsight.

C'mon Fev, get your act together and let's all move on :thumbsu:

He wasn't suspended from the L-Group. I believe he was dropped completely

I heard that he was dropped as well.

I still think he should have been suspended, although my Carlton heart is at the same time glad he's playing.

Suspending won't necessarily stop him from acting up but it may deter others, hopefully we don't have any other deads**ts at the club who will act up anyway.

Let's all hope from a playing perspective that he finally stays out of trouble or we're in trouble on the field.

Fev should receive the following punishment...

1. A 5k fine
2. Suspension from the leadership group for a period of time
3. Public apology
4. Be forced to listen to 5 consecutive Terry Wallace press conferences.

:)
gees, big punishment .

Surely telling an umpire hes shit (Hird) isnt quite as bad as: bashing up a bartender...while drunk,
speeding 20Km over the limit in a school zone, and then
pissing on a shop window and arguing with the security...while drunk.

I know he got 'punished' for those misdemeanors, but he got off lightly.
Not saying he should have been suspended (although Geelong would have...look where they are)...but 20K at least, surely?

Fev now on his third last last chance. What a threat! Great leadership Swann. Obviously not good enough to beat the Tigers without him. At least this indicates that Carlton are actually intent on winning games and the tanking hasn't commenced....yet.

Well said Doctor Muppet

When were his two last chances? I dont recall the club giving him two previous last chances

In all honesty though, without Fev (and Fisher) I think we would have struggled to kick a winning score.

shows that the powers that be at carlton see richmond as more of a threat than their supporters.
Thursday will be a wake up call for some of the more arrogant blues fans

Being a Pies supporter you are well credentialed to comment on tanking re: the acquistion of Dale Thomas in the 2005 draft!!

You know what they say about people in glass houses you tool!

Carlton got this 100% right! I PISS ON PUBLIC BUILDINGS WHEN IM OUT IF I CANT FIND A TOILET, WHO CARESSSSSSS! when you got to go you got to go. people are so anal about the stupoidest things, im a bit upset its a week out before the season but maybe he needed to just winde down a bit im sure theres alot of stress on all players this time of th season.
