Actually watched Fev play on the weekend up in darwin, you can rule him out now as he did absolutely nothing. Kicked 3 goals, one of them was from a hand pass in the goal square from a team mate. There is no way in the world would anyone want to pick him up he is fat, slow, old and trouble. It seriously looks like this guy hasn't been to training in 5 years.

Fev came down to Tas, kicked 18 for New Norfolk, pulled in a crowd and made them a few $s. Everyone was happy. He is still a popular player with a potential contribution to make to the game. He certainly won't play at AFL level again but I don't think it serves anyones best interests to make him an outcast. I'm thinking maybe an annual comedy hour 'Fev's Brownlow Special' reliving the great night: make better viewing than the vote counting.
You make an excellent point. People should stop thinking of him as a potential AFL prospect but rather see him as an ordinary bloke with a gift that can still thrill the masses, though at a lower level of competition. I have to admit I thought he was a hoot on Brownlow night, though not barracking for Carlton makes the humour much easier to identify and appreciate.

Certainly I will never forget the 12 goals he kicked against us in the new year's eve game in 1999. I'd never heard of him. He lined up on some speculative draft pick named Clark who never played a senior game after being comprehensively trounced by a cocky young Fev. We lost by 88 points.

Fev just about always destroyed us. He is never going to play AFL again, but he is not yet a washed up human being. Give him a break. Stop creating threads suggesting he might be a good cheap pick-up.
