buddy >>>>>>>>>>>> Fevola.

with the two new teams coming in and fevola refusing the latest contract. think about the draft pick you could get for some one who has rep is more than it is worth.....

don't react on the heat of the moment defensively, look at the positives of doing a trade. Will fevola be around for the next premiership If not the trade you get from the deal has very good chances of doing so.....

You poor thing, you've caught Kennett Disease. We barely have anyone to kick a score as it is. What are we supposed to do without him? Hope we draft a gun forward who is likely to take another 4 years to come on?

I don't mind being beaten fair and square by a better team on the day as we develop our side and rebuild, it's patronizing buffoons like yourself who really give me the shits. Keep your unwelcome, uneducated crap to yourself. :)

I don't believe fevola is worth the stress he givens carlton or the money he takes of the blue. Every time he comes to the final year of a contract he boots a heap of goals, leading us all to believe his time may of come to reached super star goal kicking status. When the contract is signed he loose it and becomes complancent.

Its my veiw the blues should trade fevola and get some top draft picks why he is still worth some value and build on the impress young list you already have.

before you shot you me down, think about it. Its just my veiw on fevola the player for the blues. I now alot of you are into loyalty(as am i at the hawks.

But some times tough calls have to be made for a club to go forward. The guy just knocked back a fantastic offer by the blues as he reportedly didnt like the behaviour clause, if he hadnt cause trouble in the past id agree with fevola. But he has done the crime, why should he pay the time for them?
I tend to agree - I wouldn't mind seeing Fev go and for us to get some good draft picks while he is at his most valuable in terms of trades. He is a very good player but I am sick of his petulance. He drops his lip too much when things aren't going his way - I still see him arguing for a free kick when he should be back in the action chasing the ball. 2 examples from yesterdays game:
1 - his first shot at goal from members pocket was a shocker and went oob for a throw in. Instead of getting over there for the contest he sulks about his bad kick
2 - quarter time after the siren - Fisher has a set shot from 50. fev is about 20 metres out from goal and instead of getting back to the goal line to help shephard the ball through if needed walks off to the huddle with his head down sooking. Fishers kick drops about a metre short and another of our players has run down to try to keep 3 bomber defenders at bay

Not having a go at all, but they would want to be damn good. Remember, draft picks dont come with a guarantee, he is performing now and has a proven track record.

Fev's management want four years so they can make a name for themselves with an inflated number.

The last two years are only half counted in the salary cap, so his contract will likely be heavily back-ended. Something like 650,000, 650,000, 550,000 (1.1 Million) and 550,000 (1.1 Million). About $100,000 grand per year of that will be part of the promotional allowance, a reduction on past percentage now that Chris Judd is essentially the face of Carlton. So from a pure numbers perspective, it's a very good deal for Fevola.

We'll see won't we.
How will we see?

Will you be "proved" right when he re-signs?
Well thats a 50/50 call isn't it, and given that MOST big name players stay at their club......and Carlton having a strong history of holding onto their stars......saying "we will see" doesn't mean much.

If he has re-signed why isn't it in the paper?

It should be announced in the next two days or you are full of crap.

As for the actual deal.......is always media speculation so naming the length and amount is NEVER going to be confirmed.........if its printed differentl;y you can always claim the media have got it wrong.

There is no way of proving it right or wrong.

So what this comes down to is, if he has signed then there is no reason to delay the announcement given the loss to the Dons and the Pratt thing......Swann will be itching for a good news story......so we should we it announced today or Tuesday.........otherwise, you are stirring, and go away.

I will be proved right when it's announced that he has signed for 4 years. The 3.5 million may not be announced, but that's the figure he signed for. He was talking openly about it at a family function on Saturday night. Swann obviously has his reasons for not announcing it yet. I bet Hutchy's all over it already though.

I pray he has signed otherwise we should start tanking now as we would be stuffed without him

FFS shut up and stop embarrassing this club. NOBODY should ever want their team to lose on purpose. It is a blight on the game, and a blight to this football club. Ever heard of a winning culture? Is it no surprise that this year we are finally winning the close games because we have a bloke like Judd in the team, who finds an extra gear in the final quarter, and sets the example. He actually knows what it takes to win. Our team has been so low for so long, I can't believe you would want to finish bottom again. The idea of bottoming out is a joke - look at the way the likes of Sydney and Brisbane have remained successful without it.

I dont give a shit where our team is, I NEVER want to lose on purpose, and neither should you. If you wanna follow a sport where people lose on purpose, start following European football. Otherwise, stop embarassing and disrespecting this club

Miss Hawk Fan,

you should be on the Hawks site supporting your team after a shocking loss to North Melbourne instead of worrying whether Fev will sign with the Blues or not.

As for your comment "But he has done the crime, why should he pay the time for them?"....it doesnt even make sense...not that your opinion counts... but in future proof read your comments before posting them.

GO BLUES....GO FEVOLA

LOVE YA FEV LOVE YA FEV LOVE YA FEV LOVE YA FEV

There are only a few minor issues that some supporters dont realise,
Carlton need a true CHF, trading fev would mean we also need some one to step into his shoes at FF, if Hartlett stayed fit and injury free he would be a superstar forward however he has trouble keeping away from injury. As for FEV if he does not have the passion that our young boys have I agree that he needs to be traded and Swan and Icke would already be planning for that. Its true that all players chase money but not signing because of a good behaviour clause, cmon whos being stupid FEV or CARLTON, cant remember last time Swan pisd on a window.
If FEV doesnt want to be at the blues he may aswell piss away his career.

Can you give us information about what Swann said?

Sure mate.......Swanny said that the delay has nothing to do with the supposed behaviour clause as there will be nothing outside the standard contract behaviour requirements for AFL players....... they are still haggling over the $, nothing more and nothing less.......and that they are pretty close and hope to have the deal done by the end of the month.

He made no mention as to the length of the contract.

Well youd hardly expect him to say that it did have something to do with the behaviour clause, its not the Smorgan leaking board now is it. It isnt money as we have shit loads of room in the cap.
PS Im not saying I want him out but lets not forget that the recruits we have will require more money and a few of them very soon.

He said categorically that there will be NO special behaviour clause.....he has nothing to hide or mislead if there is not going to be one.

That we have room in our cap now is not the point.
We need to keep room for future acquisitions and re-signing of our young guns as their market value increases in the not too distant future.

As the young guns value increases FEV will be on the veterans list so we will still have plenty of money for the young boys. He is not hiding anything or misleading anyone bcoz the clauses Swanny is putting into his contract are standard for all players at CFC, thats what I meant by good behaviour clauses, sorry if i didnt make that clear.

I suspect they are trying to keep some money aside for a launch at another big name in the trade period.

So what relation are you???

He won't be getting 4 years and he won't be getting 3.5 mil

As i said the club offered 3 years and 2mil....its a big jump don't you think, thats a difference of $210K a season, unlikely.

If you think about, he is 27 and although in great form he has been eratic in the last couple of years, so there is more that Fev needs to do than kick goals.

Also, Judd, from what i understand signed for 6 years and 4mil, which is only 665K a year (plus personal sponsors and marketing) so why would Carlton pay Fev more than Judd??

That would also make sense, would you prefer to keep Fev on Huge money or pay what his worth + get another key position player.

FANTASTIC..... some one making sense hes not worth that kind of money!!!

3.5 million over 4 years. It's done, so don't worry about that.

3.5 million over 5 years is a lot of money. But if Carlton didn't have Fev they would be in trouble. If Fev is having a bad day than most likely Carlton is having a bad day. We need him at the club. He is an exciting player to watch so give him what he wants.

Cheers mate.
As i have said a few time previously, I have every confidence in Swann and Icke to get the job done.

I dont think u guys will offer him more than u already hav... becoz of salary cap issues in the future... we all know murphy gibbs kruzuer and these sort of players will be expensive 2 keep, so if carlton knew how 2 keep a list together they wouldnt offer fev any more than what they already have.... however the blues need fev, other wise it could be a team like west coast... a gr8 midfield but ordinary foward like... because we all kno u can build a team around fev
