Channel 7 Footy Show this morning (can't remember the name of the show) had it flashing up at the bottom of the screen that Fev is close to signing a 3 year deal :thumbsu:

From the ,am himself in todays herald sun...

  • CARLTON president, billionaire businessman Dick Pratt, said yesterday full-forward Brendan Fevola must be given a new three-year contract to ensure he finished his career as a Blue.
"We have to do it, three years," he said after the Blues staged a comeback to defeat Fremantle by nine points to win their fourth game of the season.

it will be a done deal very soon:thumbsu:

Meh when he re-signs and he will (what Dick Pratt says or wants, will happen :D) you can be sure all the sooks from other clubs will be thinking that we're cheating/rorting the salary cap (Esp with Judd) :)

Funny you mention the salary cap.

In The Age the other day, it ranked the 16 clubs on the salary cap and Carlton pay the second least in the league.

From memory, it went something like this:

1. Sydney
2. Brisbane
3. Collingwood
4. St Kilda
5. Melbourne

15. Carlton
16. Hawthorn

Hmm I can't believe if that is true BG ..

How can a team like Melbourne be paying the 5th most, and Hawks 16th ..

They did finish 11th in 2006 - so it's plausible that players who signed in 06 are still on relatively cheap contracts, given the age of their list.

I know. I said the same thing when I read it during the week. I can't find it on The Age website though...

didnt melbourne pay a lot of money to get ben holland from richmond? also they would still be paying for some of travis johnstone i think?

Pretty sure ther are paying half of TJ's contract.

thats right... neitz would of been on some decent dollars... robbo just resigned and that took a bit to keep him away from the doggies... mclean would be demanding a few dollars and so would of bruce and green... not only are the selfish on the field but off it too!
