Fevola and his wife, Alex, have seperated and it is alleged that it because of him having an affair with Lara Bingle. Alex confirmed the split on 7 news but when she was asked if their was a third party involved she said that "you'd have to ask Brendan".

Before anyone hangs Fev too much for this just remember that none of us will ever know the full story. The main thing he needs from us, as Carlton supporters, is support. No matter what the circumstances behind the breakup, a marriage separation is bloody tough on everyone, especially when kids are involved. He'll be copping enough from opposition supporters. He doesn't need it from us.

It's funny how Channel 7 gloss over the love life of one Namoi Robson, and yeah I'm now so grateful for channel 9 for exposing C7's personalities.
Also I do notice that Fevola is a channel 9 personality and a Footy Show regular, so yeah i'm putting 2 and 2 together.

It happened a week before the Ireland trip, thats why Carlton told the AFL they didnt want him to go.
 
Couldn't agree more Sticks74. Opposition supporters are going to crucify him.

We love this club, he loves this club, we need to just stick by him.

As i will keep saying, we love him for what he does in the Navy Blue on game day. He's a footballer, and that is why we like him. Personal life has nothing to do with us.

Everyone just get behind him, because he will need support through what is going to be a difficult time for him in his headspace.

In the article in the Hearld Sun the third party is denying any involvement with Fev, so as it stands, he has split up from his wife. This is a fairly common in society so get off the blokes back and enjoy watching him play footy. Absolutely no reason for anyone to judge what he has or hasn't done.
 
For whatever reason Alex has split from Fev, we're going to have to prepare ourselves just in case Fev explodes again.

If he did in fact split from Alex prior to Ireland, then we can see what's potentially in store if he can't keep himself off the drink and wallowing in self-pity etc etc.

We can't expect the club to watch over him 24/7 but let's just say on the field, he's going to get a hell of a verbal touch up by opposition most likely causing the Fev we know to do something stupid and get reported!

let's hope he grows up from this experience, perhaps mends things with his wife and moves forward and becomes the champion he should become!

exactly right. Carlton people need to show their support. The last thing we want if Fev feeling he has no support from the Club or the supporters.

Everyone just go down to training, show your support, pat him on the back to keep his chin up, I dont care what, i just dont want this guy falling off the rails and thinking he has let every person at the club down.

If anyone is going to training,and is going to post a training report, could you please let us know what the atmosphere was like regarding Fev?

As i keep saying, it's the hard times when people rely on support the most. Lets just show him what he means to this club.

Have read through this thread and just wanted to give my support to Fev. As much as I dont agree with anyone cheating on their partners, he is a human being after all and has and will continue to make mistakes in his life.

The details of his separation from Alex should be left private but in saying that, people will always have assumptions that there is a third party involved.

This will be headlines in the papers for weeks and make the womans magazines.

So get behind him and let him see that the teams supporters are bagging him out for ending his marriage for whatever reason.

It is almost blasphemy to use Fevola in the same sentence as Carey and Ablett. Fevola isn't half the footballer Carey and Ablett were. He did not have half the expectations to live up to. Ablett isn't a champion in some people's eyes after his off field antics (still is in mine), but he is still the greatest player ever to play the game. I guess Fevola wont be looked on as highly in some circles after this also, but at least he will still remain a mediocre footballer. :o

He is what the handbaggers need to win a flag, you just got rid of a quality forward for nothing!
 
He's a better leading option than anyone we've got at Geelong, but if you'd read the post properly, you'd have noticed that I was comparing him to players of the calibre of Gary Ablett and Wayne Carey. Fevola is mediocre at very best in comparison to these two.
 
Very mediocre compared to those two... when you think about what they have done in their private lives, and what Fev has done, it's nothing in comparison!

But yes, good point "RememberMe" very good point. Fev's marriage breakdown is no where near as big as what Ablett and Carey have done in their bedrooms....

Time will tell if he is mediocre compared to those two...took G Ablett a while to get going...
Different players tho, Fev has the freak side of Ablett in him thats for sure!

Ablett likes giving young girls drugs, Fev likes girls who ask WHERE THE HELL ARE YA!!! lol
 
Morally not great, if a fling is the reason for the breakup, but more importantly really tough on the kids:thumbsd:


Selfishly for us as Carlton people it is also not good which is why I guess this thread is not just ambulance chasing. He hasn't shown the capacity to cope with dramas in his life so I'm not hopeful that he will put it behind him and play well. Putting aside his moral lapse, he is a very likeable bloke who if he does go off the rails may take a few with him. No-one likes to drink alone:eek: Not good for such a young group.

I really hope he doesn't go offtrack and that I am just being alarmist:D
