Given 100% of non-Carlton supporters and the anti-Carlton media set are frantically crying out for Fev to be suspended, the logical decision is not to suspend him. Instead fine and warn him that next time he'll be suspended. That will send a good message to Fev, and get the anti-Carlton supporters real upset. A good outcome.![]()
Its a tough call. while i obviously want fev on the field it must be asked want are the longer term consequences if he is just given a mickey mouse penalty? are there separate rules for our stars and the other players? and are the rules diffrent depending on the importance of the game?
really this is not the first such incident for Fev. I hav always been an advocate for him staying at Carlton but he really is a meat head. I say suspend him for one game. Ultimately it is just one game in the grand scheme of things and think of the message it would send to the younger players. also the club would hav a reputation of not shirking difficult issues.
That should have happened in Ireland.

Come on Parrot - I love yout posts but seriously you took the WCE to task about their inactivity to address a broken culture yet you want to create one at Carlton?
Don't want Fev suspended for this incident simply because it gives Carlton fans an easy out if they lose on Thursday, as well as, if Richmond were to lose to the Blues without Fev I think the Richmond board would go into meltdown.Given 100% of non-Carlton supporters and the anti-Carlton media set are frantically crying out for Fev to be suspended, the logical decision is not to suspend him. ...For mine, I would hit him with the maximum fine possible, place a ban on alcohol for the season and put a 2-3 week suspended sentence over his head for the rest of the season. If the Blues are serious about turning the clubs fortunes they need to make a stand now regardless of whether it affects the clubs chances for a win in the opening round or not.
BTW I would be saying the same thing whether Richmond were playing Carlton or not.
SEN says they heard he got fined awaiting confirmation, to be expected, fine only setting a precedent for the future
SEN saying Fev is playing. Unsure of details.![]()
What precedent would that be?? That we won't bow to media pressure and impose a penalty that fails to address the underlying issues??

You can't possibly be trying to draw a comparison between recreational drug use and having a few too many drinks and acting like an idiot???
What next? Random out of competition breath testing for players?![]()
