Missed our chance with Shane Kersten at 26. Geelong drafted him at 34. He has come in and kicked 3-3-6 in his first 3 games at VFL level. Was spoke of a top 10 draft pick at one stage and dropped like Darling did. Watch this space!

kirsten is still only 2/3rd tall being a shorter fwd.

Not sure what the hell the club is up to in terms of developing current stocks?

Looking at Coburg this season we are using Mcguane as a KPF and Griff (recruited as KPF) playing CHB    I wonder where Rance would play if we sent him to the Burgs for a few weeks if his form warranted it? Probably forward :confused::confused:

Post, Astbury, Vickery, Griff all recruited in the last few years and big enough to play either end but I am confused as to what the club sees them as? I wonder if they know where they will be playing next week........next month.......next year?
just remember that just bc players are training/playing in certain areas doesnt mean they are locked in to it either.

Would love someone who is a shadow, like Roughead (hawks), under the franklin limelight. Bring him to us, we have a forward that will play footy and kick goals. Roughy would put is in the top 8 on his own.

I'll tell you all what NEEDS to happen.

1) Jack to line up no closer than 30 meters out and LEAD at the footy.

2) The grooming of a genuine FULL FORWARD out of Griff/Vickery/Derrickx/Elton.
(Happy to draft/free agency one but needs to be end of this year)

3) Miller
a) We draft/free agency a FF and one of Griff/Vickery/Derrickx/Elton takes his spot
at HF
b) We dont draft a FF and he sticks around a bit longer until 2 of those mentioned
above step up to cover both HF and FF

4) To find a Medium sized fwd ala Le Cras to take ONE of King/Nahas spot

5) ONE of King/Nahas to play defensive FWD / goal sneak

6) Continue rotation of Dusty/Cotch/Lids/Conca up fwd.

FF: Nahas, Griffiths, Vickery
HF: Martin, Riewoldt, (Le Cras type)

If we had this from the start of the year guaranteed we would be around the 6-2 mark at the moment, not 3-5. What staggers me is how much our midfield and defence has improved - to be matching it with top 4 sides in 2012 with our forward line having gone backwards from 2011 IMO is an incredible effort.

Agree Kosi.
Most of the kicks Jack got were cloud poppers.

He has to run and create leads.
I see him hang at the back and make a run up for a hangar that is impossible to grab most times all too often.

He has to create a lead so the mids can put in in his bread bag.

Everyone has found him out though.Essendon had 3 all over him.

Miller is the major worry.

Was down all game.

Have to say Martin's kicking for goal hurt us also.

Noone could stop Bannister in the first half though.

34 shots at the big sticks suggest we have enuff firepower
Jack, Martin, King, Nahas, Miller were all down as well last night, Had we kicked straight and taken a couple of 1/2 chances that went begging we could have kicked 23 and beat the Bombers in a canter.
