A bit sick of PES so giving this a crack. Taking a while to get into it but its pretty damn impressive.

Is it just me or is the crowd noise quieter than previous versions? I also find the lack of 'swish' on the net when you kick a goal a bit annoying also.

In the practise bit before you can go into the menu I had Ronaldhino and the goalie and he is awesome to do tricks with especially juggling the ball which is easy as to do on the PS3.

that link was great. just starting off with juggling as it's easy. did it a few times in the games. i find some of the tricks fun to do but with my level of play i usually spin out of control!

oh shit yea.. last year there was heaps of change.. not much dif between 08 and 09 though.. i'm the type who loves having up to date rosters and new kits and all the new kids on the game and that.. so for that alone it was worth the 40 bucks IMO.. the gameplay is a little bit more realistic IMO

im the same, love getting rosters right - although i am more diligent with nba live rosters (less teams than fifa of course!).

From what i've read the ps2 version of fifa '09 is once again 'more complete' and has a few other extras that the other versions don't (training modes etc).

wouldve been great to have training in ps3. free kicks are just hit and hope.

i love taking freekicks. the amount of curve i get is awesome. im yet to score from one but the amount of times ive bended the ball past the keeper only to hit the crossbar or post is amazing.

I was playing as Barca against some bloke who was Real Madrid last night. ****ing mesmorised him with Messi. Messi's ball control is brilliant along with the tricks.

Loving this game although i can't wait to download the Pro Evo 09 demo to give it a run.

First of all fantastic game. I can't get enough of it. Just found some niggling worries as well as good points

PRO:
-Gameplay is really good. All the goals I have scored so far have been very realistic. It is impossible just to whip in an aimless cross past a terrible defence and score. It takes patience and good build up play.
-Defending takes real skill. Again because the AI is better, defending requires a good amount of ability because if you screw up this year they will make you pay.
- The advancements to MM are really good. Love the new MM front screen, including fixture, table and top scorers, and REALLY appreciate the opposition run down before each game. Fantastic work.
- The game, on a whole looks sharper. Thats in total, and covers most aspects. EA have obviously put in a lot of work in order to replicate realism in a football game

Now for some bad points.
-"team_name*abbrv". Rookie error. Piss poor really.
- Sometimes Ive found that same magic ball passing is still there, where basically everyone stands still and watches it roll.
-Commentry is no improvement on, if not worse than, 08. Very few updates, and they still sound as bored as ever, as well as being 5 minutes behind play.

Overall, I'd say the positives outweigh the negatives, Id give it an 8.5/10

Another thing I've noticed is that in the moment prior to kick off, the team without the ball will be jumping up and down on the spot, keeping warm etc... which is fairly normal. However they ALL DO IT AT ONCE! Looks kind of stupid!

it's just me, but when the opposition are on the attack i always find when switching players they newly controlled defender runs away a bit. again, prob just my bad timing.

Probably better you DON'T look out for it... it's bugged me ever since I noticed it!

Also, the AI attack is a lot tougher to defend this year. I often find myself chasing shadows or hacking at legs which has resulted in a lot of cards. I had three players sent off in one of my first matches, which is a reflection of my poor defensive organisation and the fact I lost the plot after half time!

In another game I mistimed a tackle in my attacking half and was NOWHERE near the man with the ball. So much so that I took out a stationary player of the opposition. At the next stoppage, the ref sent me off. I was so amazed I didn't even care!

Tonight should be good, off to Adelaide United then a mate is coming back to my joint for some Be A Pro games with the Reds. With a gutful of piss and miss jane it promises to be pretty sick.

What level are people playing on? I went straight to Professional as the one below was a bit too easy, it's a good challenge but I'm finding it pretty difficult. I haven't played much FIFA in the past 5 or so years at least, it's a lot different to PES.

The match where u got 2 early red cards sorta ended up bein a goalfest. Sorta felt that u were tryin to kill Messi with slide tackles everytime he got near the ball was fun tryin to avoid bein killed .

Only played against u and barts so far n both have been fun, wont be online 2nite tho...gotta spend some time getting on the missus good side after a few days of preferring fifa over her

What difficulty is everyone playing on? I'm in professional and in 10 minute halves won 10-0 against a crap team, but still think i might have to go up to the highest difficulty
