seriously though, the only united player i've had trouble containing is rooney.. always seems to score goals against me

(oh and the refs love me, i don't reckon there has been a game where i haven't recieved a penalty!, got two within 10 minutes against united:D - one with Foster (who was keeping for some reason) getting sent off and then Wes Brown moving into goal!)

Try setting shot control to semi or even manual.... It will take a while to get used to and you might miss the occasional shot but once you master it you should be able to beat the keeper consistently.
 
Played a really enthralling game last night. I was Liverpool in manager mode and I was up against Middlesborough in an English League Cup game, it went goal for goal most of the match until they scored a 3rd goal in about the 89th minute.

I thought i was screwed until Torres got on the end of one and scored to make it 3-3. Now to extra time and at about the 97 minute Boro scored to make it 4-3. Towards the 120th min I thought im screwed and again and you guessed it Torres got another one to tie it up 4-4.

Now to penalty shootouts, it went goal for goal, goal for goal until Dan Agger stepped up if he got it, it would have evened it up 9-9 in the shootout but he had the shot saved and the final score was 4-4 (9-8 penalties) I was a bit pissed but it was a good game.

Btw what would you guys give this game out of ten?

lol nice... umm i would probably give it an 8 out of 10... it would have been more but there seem to be a few glitches in the game, eg. when you are chasing the ball and your player stops and does this weird side step dance... lol. I am one of those man united people, i have a record of 27-2 online...
 
omg that always happens to me and cost me the match more than once. hope they fix it
 
Red cards are abit random IMO. My mate would make a tackle, free kick. I would do the exact same thing and I get struck with a straight red. Its like ur playing United.

Great game though.
 
Yeah refs in the game are a funny bunch. Some are so damn lenient, if you nail a bloke in the first few minutes and don't get carded you can almost do that for the rest of the game without picking up even a yellow.

Yet then I can cop a red card when it was more like a yellow, that bit if fairly realistic though.

Yeh pretty good how u just dnt know what to expect. Next years version is going to be a revolution in gaming. Really fixing up manager mode which is a must.

The advantages are fkd. Scored a goal and the advantage goes back to a free kick, has happened heaps aswell.

Hate it when people do that aswell.

I myself pick Man United when the person im playing picks a 5 star team but if they pick an average team, Newcastle United gets the job done ;)

My record online so far is 30 wins 2 losses i think, still early days though

Nah, im man u most of the time, but i do pick other teams...

and yes imzie i agree... the advantages in the game are so bad.... something must be done

i hate it the most when they call an unneccesary off side... where u were offside when they played it and then by the time u get the ball the defenders are well and truly back in position, there isnt ne advantage what so ever... and also when u get called offside after it comes off an opposition player... i hate that.
 
Gee some things really do shit me especially when you are versing a human, that stupid crab walk.. I will put a lovely ball through and my player runs towards it then stops. Also in defence it can take an eternity to finally select the defender you want.

I just won my first game online though which I'm stoked about. My opponent chose Man Utd :rolleyes: so I went as Villa and beat him 1-0. He dominated the second half really and should have scored, but I was unlucky I didn't score when I booted one of his throws almost over the head. A fingertip save denied me the chance to do the robot.

I read on Whirlpool that it will be by EA, it is a gamefix not just a few stats and stuff.

Geez I just played another game online and was going alright but got flogged in the end cos I stopped trying. The more I play the more the little things annoy the **** out of me but maybe some experts like Mass can give me tips? Or do you just work around them?

Defence! SO unresponsive! I try and change player and I rarely get the right person, and when I do change to someone they look the other way or move the wrong way, by that stage the opposition has charged past me.

Keepers! What the **** is with them seriously? Why don't they come out?????? The ball can be bombed into the box and they just ****ing stand there, which coupled with the annoying crabwalk makes it extremely dangerous. Sometimes I try and get them to pick it up by holding triangle but that can often lead to my defender doing a through ball up the pitch (or in one case in an offline game, an own goal)!!!

So damn frustrating.
 
FFS i just lost 3 games online in a row wen i was winning the game and then my net connection dropped out to hand the opposition a win since its counted as a forfeit in my part :mad:....
Guess i shouldnt bother playing online if my net is capped back to dialup speeds :(
