Why is this bullshit??? If it's a red then yeah that can be a bit crap but there is no law that states the game must stop if a yellow is to be shown.

Totally agree, I hear so many people argue about this, in my experiences the ref usually stops play pretty quickly if it is a card worthy tackle.

One thing I have noticed though since the last update is that this change seems to have not worked:
Improved advantage rule: fixed goals being called back for free kicks
There was a problem in the advantage rule whereby the referee would call back a goal if it was scored when the advantage was being played. Instead the referee would give a FK or a PK to the fouled player. This issue has been resolved in the game update. Goals that are going in when a foul is committed will count when they score.

I have had this happen numerous times, yet they keep being called back for the free kicks.

You must not watch much a whole heap of football..

The ref never stops play to produce a card when there is a clear advantage.

They tend to produce the card after the advantage, when there is no advantage it's a on the spot card..

The only thing that may be un-realistic is if it is a red card..A red card is always a on the spot thing, not something that happens after an advantage..

That was the update already released, as I said I don't think it worked.

Well obviously you don't watch football at all.

So your team is charging towards goal, Player A passes it through to Player B who is about to go 1 on 1 with the keeper.

Player A gets collected late.

Would you seriously want the ref to stop the game and issue a YELLOW to the bloke who decked Player A when Player B was about to score the winning goal? Seriously???

Still freezing at the same point. Am about to throw the game out of the window like a ninja star, hopefully cutting the throat of a Microsoft employee in the process.

I really like this feature in the game.

It's pretty funny when you don't have a stoppage for a long time and then one of your players get's a red card but you can't remember what for.

Always cracks me up.

Yep it's still doing it to me too.

Freezes at 18% after a game. Has happened bout 6 times in a row and I even went back and got a brand new copy. I've also tried not signing in and that didn't work either.

So allthough 360's do struggle severly, it's not their fault. Cus mines PS3. Very, very annoying.

Happened to me a while back, did a dodgy tackle early on (about the 5minute mark), amazingly the play went back and forth for close to the rest of the first half with no stoppages. Just plenty of shots at goal that the goalie blocked OR hit the bar, and tackles here & there. When there was finally a stoppage just prior to the 45min mark, the umpire pulls out the card :D

hey guys i recently bought fifa 09 for my ps2, turned it on and the game loaded until it says push any button, so i push the button and nothing, tried in on another ps2 and same prob, so i bought the game back and got a replacement, tried it again on both consoles and still does the same thing, any advice? happened to anyone else?

wow that's worse than my problem!

Dont know what to say, the PS2 (no offence) is just so out dated to me, I wouldn't know how to troubleshoot it. Are you connected to a network through it? Try pulling it out before you turn it on and playing purely offline and obviously you have a working dualshock? The game is from the correct region?

got the game from bloody target haha, dont have it networked up so just using it to play against the computer and mates when they come round, yeh everyother game i use works fine, just not fifa 09!

No idea then mate. Buy a PS3 lol.
 
Loving be a pro mode. Just made the Adelaide United first team with my CAM player.
Although on Professional , I get to play CAM and it's too easy picked up 3 constant 9.9's.
On World Class I'm put into CDM and get ratings of 5 and 6.
