Hope Australia gets less lag online, FIFA 09 is shocking, like 3-4 second delay. I don't know how I manage to play decent at times. Does anyone else lag or is it just me and my mates

Yeah, lag is there in most games. Your best bet is to seek out the Australian Lobby where you will get the least lag and most of the time none at all.

The worst part for me is the Be A Pro mode online, would work so friggen well without lag but because of lag it just makes it a premonition contest where you have to know what is going to happen and react before it does.

The online options mentioned by the dev at GamesCom does fill me with more hope that it might be improved.

Doesn't matter what team you play with, if you get fired, your shit lol.

I remember it happening to me in 08 when I offered a player way to much in wage to lured him over and i was fired within a month lol.

The lag is quite bad at times in 09. Hate it when the game just gets ended by idiots who take out their routers and you don't get the win sometimes.

Good idea to look at their connection quality before playing them, even then that isn't very accurate.

Im quite the opposite actually, i like to make them work for the win, rather than me handing it to them.

Bahahaha it is very ******ed, but what really pisses me off is when it works, and they get away with not having a loss next to their name.

I've quit a few times too when getting smashed.

The ONLY time I will quit though is if I feel it is that slight lag in there where I believe that it's the lag beating me and not the player. The worst lag for me is that slight lag that tends to be there, I don't mind heavy lag as I will quit within the 15 minutes as it's just unplayable, but when there is that lag where you push the button to kick a goal or pass or tackle, etc. and instead it takes that second longer than you can and thus miss the tackle, pass, goal or whatever and they just take it up and score a goal as easy as pie, THAT'S when I quit. This has happened a few times for me so I quit then. If someone is genuinely smashing me then I will fight it out to the end.

By the 3rd season of a 4 star team MM season your players are nearly all over 85.

I havn't even touched Manager Mode in 09, i played Be a Pro Seasons, but that got way too easy, after 1 season i was at Barca and scoring 4 goals before HT.

I was too fast and my shots were always goals..

I dunno if its because its iinet and i am in perth, but my lag...well i am not saying it is worse than others because I don't know that, but it seems a bit strange at times. Probably correct about the connection - always seems orange though which normally indicates average connection eh?

I am 0% DNF, I never try quit unless the lag makes the game actually unplayable. I played tonight and scored a goal and set up a few chances on the be a pro mode, like a poster mentioned though its so much luck involved. Frustrating playing with people that just wanna dribble the whole field, I love just playing it around. Sometimes i like try tackle though and i end up with the ball and because of delay i pass it. Oh well, it happens but I would love to see an improvement. Is it true there arent any "servers" in Australia for Fifa?

How would I go about getting in an Australian lobby?

Really pumped for the game...also what do people think about the MOTM/Player ratings. I think its a bit silly that you lose points for putting a good ball in, being out of position barely (e.g you are on the left and it gets switched over to the right and you cant sprint there in time).
It seems - 14/14 Passes > 4 Goals , 3/5 passes. Strikers aren't always going to have that easy option when they may be trying to create a chance by through ball etc. Anyway no more bitching from me just thought I'd give my opinions.

Going on memory you have to go through the online menu and get to a part where you have several options in front of you that isn't in the normal menu and is a section with little pictures and then scroll over to the individual lobbies one of which is for MY COUNTRY (I think). Someone on the game right now might be able to give a far better explanation.

Keyboard support as the controller? No, don't think so.

You should be able to adapt easily enough, I had only played FIFA's on PC previous to FIFA 09, but I managed to transfer over well enough. Best thing with FIFA 10 is that you'll be able to have a few goes in the practice mode before taking on some actual matches.

HAHA, yeah was for me too. Last FIFA I had really played extensively was 2001. Never thought I would get out of the A, S, D control midset.

I don't know how I missed this, but the Official UK PlayStation Magazine has released the first review of FIFA 10 (Unfortunately no actual info, just a score).

The score is a 9/10. The exact same score given for FIFA 09, so have no idea what that means.

Hopefully will have some screens up soon once the Magazine has been released.
