I don't know why anyone would pre-order from a local store, pay at least $100 and receive a copy of FIFA Street or a stupid soccer ball. Order online from Play Asia and get it delivered for between $60-70 depending on exchange rates (which are quite good at the moment).

In fact, would anyone be interested in a group buy?

Why would anyone be interested in buying from a local store?? You just answered your own question you idiot.

They do it because they want to support their local supplier instead of giving their money to Asians overseas and they're not tightarses and find it far easier to just drive/walk to their local store and spend the 'extra' $20-$30.

Why should I give a toss about Game or EB Games? Their prices are a joke and I don’t feel as though I have any duty to support them.

I’ll happily order a game to be delivered to my door and pay 30% less for it at the same time! Couldn't give a toss whether it came from Sydney, Saigon or Siberia.

Sunday Red

Do you usually get the game on time or is it a few days after it has been released Down Under?

I'm not 100% sure to be honest as I have never been one to go and buy the game the absolute second that it's released. Jump on to their website and shoot them an e-mail for clarification.

Hmm, I just checked it out myself. For whatever reason, FIFA is US$78 which is considerably more than what I paid for Madden 10 a fortnight ago (just US$49). Perhaps the import isn't as worthwhile in this instance, but it works out considerably cheaper on most occasions.

god, anyone who buys games from EB are really idiots...

for that matter, the people who make prices at EB are idiots, $20 difference? WTF?

Price matching is available so you price match it and then get the 7 day return policy.

Cheers for those HBK.

I always get my games from EB, but I always price match as well. i like the 7 day return policy, and you often get someting with your game there, like a $25 off card or some novelty item. Better than nothing.

No worries. Although maybe I should create a separate FIFA 10 Price thread? Just to keep things in their right place.

I love incentives. They could be as pointless as a shit on a stick, but I'll still go for that over nothing.:o

Always look for JB, EB and GAME incentives before choosing where to buy but always make sure it's the cheapest price I can find.

And your an idiot for not knowing what price matching is. It's good business by EB really.

Do you need some kind of documentation when you price match? Or do you just say I saw it cheaper here etc.?
You may need something like a catalogue (I've done this a few times, just in case). If you can't find a catalogue with the price in that just take the phone number of the place you saw it cheaper at, tell EB Games you saw it cheaper at [Insert Store Name Here] and if they ask for some sort of proof of that you can give them the number and they should ring up and confirm the price.

I'm surprised by how many people have a total lack of awareness of what shops do and don't price match

As a consumer, it is in your best interest to look for the best possible price/ deal. $ in your pocket is better than $ in someone else's.

EB aren't the only ones to match prices. A lot of hardware stores do it, Bunnings being the most notable. Plenty of retail outlets do it to

Best thing about games though, is you can trade your old ones in too, and make it cheaper again. The car industry also does this. Now thats consumer power!

yeah but why the hell would you waste your time going there, telling them that this place is selling it cheaper, waiting for them to call and verify it.. its just a load of wank..

Because people go there because they are a big, popular gaming store, with no intention to bother looking at other prices, and just pay their price, that way EB make the extra $20 off people's ignorance. For the people that do look at prices, they go to EB, get the price match and the 7 day thing.

You really don't think that EB are 'idiots' do you?? They know exactly what they're doing and how to exploit their market.
