There's def some scripting/momentum/whatever u wanna call it in the game.
Reckon most the time I can actually tell when the opp is gonna score a fair bit before they actually do....usually Ill have the ball in space on about the halfway line and try to make about 4-5 easy passes that just keep missing the target. Opp will magically steal the ball, run down the wing, Ill try and change to the nearest defender but it chooses someone on the other side of the field, theyll either score some ridiclous header from 4 deep, or an annoying rebound goal. Happens both ways too. Can always tell when Im about to score a jaggy goal.
Its frustrating as hell when on the receiving end because it feels like there's not a thing u can do about it....but tbh it's probably part of what makes the game so damn addictive.
Just had one of those moments on a Single player seasons game against a World Class team. I was playing perfectly and the game was 0-0 and the snapped up a perfect pass i made in the midfield and pushed forward with 3 strikers, one of which that knocked over my defender on the floor who wasn't even near the ball!
I reacted quickly and chose the middle of my 3 defenders and sent out the closest defender to block the cross. The cross still came in and their striker got a shot on target but spilled out of my keepers hands, luckily i was there to mop up or it was a certain goal...
Best bit is i went down the other end within 2 mins and put a cross into Gerard who crept forward and slotted in a header of the far post. It was the most satisfying goal i have scored because it felt like I 'cheated' the system by not letting the opposition score.
I have only won 3-4 games on World class diffuculty, I can handle Proffesional difficulty pretty easily now and hardly drop a game.
