Not really into the International job, but i did take on the role as manager of Czech Republic. First game was against Spain, had a 2-2 draw, was very happy with that, but the in my second game, played India, and they played like a team full of Messi's and Ronaldo's and i lost 5-0, didn't qualify so i quit.

Waiting for the Australian job to come up.

I don't mind if anyone calls me out with a "tl;dr" or "you loser" for posting this up haha. But if you're into reading stories about career's I documented my managerial career so far. A lot of it centres on transfers but I just can't drag myself away from this team with these awesome players! You mightn't think it but I have great fun dominating.

SEASON 1:

Not a great squad to begin with but with Del Piero up front things were made easier. He was a target man, scoring 23 goals in 25 games before getting an unfortunate season-ending injury to rule him out of finals and our premiership. Put development into the youngsters Chianese and Antonis. Let go the captain McFlynn at the start of the year as he was too old and slow. Biggest signing was Abdou Razack Traore for 860,000 pounds, an extremely pacey CAM/winger who was also a revelation providing a great asset to work off ADP. We finished 4th at the end of the regular season but powered through the finals series to defeat Adelaide United and ended with a 15-9-6 record for the season.

SEASON 2:

Out of nowhere, a new man appears seemingly to replace Del Piero - Simone Finizza. A young striker with amazing stats, Finizza seemed the perfect man to take over the strikers role with over 95 in sprint speed/acceleration and over 90 in ball control and finishing. However, he only had 1-star skills which was a massive burden and meant he just wasn't right for the club. Despite this, his value continued to grow to 33 million pounds until we sold him off to Barcelona in the January transfer window for 54,400,000 pounds, a record transfer deal in the A-League. With this we set about finding a replacement striker and shoring up our old and quite frankly slow defence. After a lot of persuasion, two class centre backs with mountains of pace were purchased, Dede and Angelo Ogbonna - the latter for 16 million pounds, a record purchase at the club. Strong target man Wilfried Bony was also signed to fill the hole in the box. In goal, Adam Federici was purchased on the cheap as out first signing of the window and has progressed into a great shot-stopper. Nearly unstoppable, we lost only four games for the entire season and were comfortable 5-1 winners in the Grand Final over Adelaide once more.

SEASON 3:

I fielded plenty of offers from other clubs willing to take me on as manager but none were as enticing as continuing with Sydney FC. The club had a squad at least three times better than any other squad in the competition so success was imminent. This was enjoyable to say the least and keeps providing fun and new ways to score! Improving the midfield was first on the agenda, and we signed Gael Kakuta from Chelsea who is a quick CAM with loads of potential. Unfortunately like Antonis he is quite injury prone. Bony left the club in the January window for 13,300,000 pounds to Barcelona and a couple of disgruntled fullbacks in Fabio and Sebastian Ryall also departed the club. Ivan Necevski, whose reflexes in goal in the first season kept us in the finals series, had dipped back to third-choice keeper and decided to move to rival Brisbane Roar. Desperately seeking a striker to replace Bony, we found Richmond Boakye, a young talented goalscorer with loads of pace and plenty of strength. For 10 million pounds he has made an immediate impact on the club.

The progression of Joel Chianese and Terry Antonis has been nothing more than stunning, with both going up nearly 10 overall points. Hagi Gligor has been played regularly despite his youth and is progressing well, while Yairo Yau has also been given plenty of opportunities on the wing. Trawling the free agents pool we found Brazilian winger Aloisio da Silva Elias, whose blistering pace and 4-star skills has been a massive boon for the club at just age 21. Signed for simply 4,000 pounds of wages, we got ourselves a bargain and he is one for the future. To patch a hole at left back we signed Carlos Caceres from Inter Milan on loan and he has been a serviceable workman. Ernest Cortes was also a classy midfielder who we signed on loan from Barca. In the end, no teams were able to keep up with us and we convincingly won the Grand Final versus Brisbane Roar 6-nil; the hattrick from da Silva Elias the icing on a very tasty cake.

SEASON 4:

I applied for a move to Huddersfield on a Manager wage of 14,000 pounds, 10,000 more than I was receiving at Sydney. I was ready for a new challenge and with Huddersfield finshing 19th in the Championship last season they were in danger of slipping down to League 1. I wanted to do the opposite and take them to the Premier League, and that's also the objective the board was after. With a solid squad and a transfer budget of 3 million I could hopefully do some damage. Yet somehow, for some insane reason, they told me my credentials weren't good enough and that they were looking elsewhere for the managerial role. I'll make them regret this decision! Antonis worth 1.8 million pounds - Lille sign him for 4.1 million pounds.

We pick up three young quick free agents all with massive potential for cheap. Sold Boakye to Manchester City for 27 million pounds despite him only having a value of 13 million. Now trying to improve the centre mid and striker positions. Still looking to move elsewhere. With the money from the Boakye transfer I spent big. The two big signings of the window were Filippo Boniperti, the 81 rated CF from Man United and a 77 rated Brazilian CAM Fernando Canesin. I also purchased two cheap extremely pacey fullbacks, Opare and Zeffane who are 74 and 72 rated respectively. Finally I raided the free agents pool for potential bargains and stumbled upon some more pace fiends, O'Keefe, Litteri, Pisacane and Claro dos Santos - watch those names. On deadline day I secured a backup keeper in Vito Mannone from Arsenal.

CURRENT TEAM:

Federici (77)
Zeffane (72) - Ogbonna (84) - Dede (85) - Opare (75)
Fernando Canesin (78) - Pisacane (70)
Kakuta (80)
da Silva Elias (72) - Boniperti (81) - Traore (76)

Bench: Mannone (75), Claro dos Santos (67), O'Keefe (70), Litteri (70), Chianese (69)

FIFA is really, really frustrating me. The game speed seems to be much faster, my goalkeeper is shit (who's the best in the league, remember), and the opposition are scoring with every single shot. It's frustrating when I'm missing sitters as well... I've been at the six yard box and shots have gone closer to the corners than they have the goal. I'm a pretty bad shooter, admittedly, but this is just insane.

But that can be like any other sport basically. Once things start going your way, you love FIFA :p

Oh man this is weird. I'm up to 2016 or whatever, scrolling through the highest rated players in the league. The wunderkid Finizza is still with Barca and is up to an 88 overall at only age 21! But I did remember when playing against Newcastle Jets they had this absolute beast in the box who was winning every header. Josh Yates is his name. He dominated against me in the first game of the season too, really tall guy and knocked in two headers. I figured he must have been some old plodder from the lower English leagues who came to Aus to finish off his career. Far from it!!!

This guy must be one of those "re-gens" someone was talking about. Get this for stats. I'm just reeling off the physical attributes as I see them. 98 acceleration, 96 agility, 96 balance, 92 jumping, 93 reactions, 96 sprint speed, 85 stamina, 83 strength. And the guy is SIX FOOT ****ING NINE! But wait, it gets better. 87 attacking positioning, 84 ball control, 87 dribbling, 94 finishing, 81 heading accuracy, 80 penalties, 87 shot power. 3 star weak foot, 4 star skills. It makes no sense but he's the most complete attacking footballer I've seen in FIFA career mode, ever. Oh and he's 20 years old. Haha

Unreal.
Lacina traore for me is up to 87 rated overall and doesn't have bad stats (might edit with them later) but his jumping is hopeless.... like 38 or something. WTF? And he's 6ft8' aswell.

wow, guess career mode randomises everything because i bought finizza and he's about 5'9 and he's a right back, his stats went up about 3 in 2 seasons despite playing nearly every match

You sold Walcott for 38 mill? Shit I sold him for a lot less then what I could of then.

How the hell does Barca afford to pay 25-45mill for players that wouldn't even make their starting 11. They bought Benzema, Wilshere, Mertesacker and Arteta from me for a total of 70 mill and Benzema is the only one I've seen play a game for them.

He was worth 18 and was coming off a great season. PSG actually bidded for him first @ 21 million, I was just trolling and said 45 million - and they accepted. He couldn't agree terms, then Barca came knocking and I let him go for 38. I haven't played since but I did muck around with Neymar and he's damn quick. I think World Class is gonna be a massive challenge.

Anyway, got bored today so I hit up a manager mode with Liverpool, just to sell a few stars and buy some young players in and sim the season. I honestly thought I'd come 12-15th and get sacked. My team was a mix of youngsters and veterans. The team for the majority of the season was

Reina 84
Johnson 81 Zouma 77 Varane 79 Enrique 81 (used Willems quite a lot)
Allen 82 Adryan 77
Gerrard 81
Assaidi 81 El Shaarawy 80 Munian 83

(Ratings above are their current ratings to date in my second season, not first - most would have been at least 3 points lower)
Ended up coming THIRD, honestly couldn't believe it. Did pretty average in the cup's but Munian got top goalscorer, most assists and player of the competition. Next season I signed Ter Stegen and Lucas to replace Reina and Gerrard. I also signed Julian Draxler the previous season who rotated with Assaidi but I decided to make him the left winger.
Few games into the season and he has scored at least a goal a game. Draxlers rating is now 78, Ter Stegen is 80 and Lucas is 83. All are about 19-20 years of age.

A question - can you actually go to calendar and sim a whole/most of a season? I find when I do it, it does like 2 days then I have to read the unanswered mail or choose my team or something. Whats the point of having this in the game if you can't sim more than a couple weeks. I hope I am doing it wrong.

Will also add two things now
1 - Sorry Jordy for quoting your post, answering your question then going off on another topic
2. Signed the best scout at 7mill, and have like 20 people in my youth academy with potential of 88+ (I know most will drop drastically but yeah). Signed a few eligible because being over 16, one CDM looks alright. Think hes already rated 67. Wish loaning players was easier.

Nah you're talking about the actual right back who is called Simone Finizza, career mode randomly generated this other guy whose name was, by complete chance, Simone Finizza. EA

In other news I finally got my move out of Aus. After Sao Paulo and Lokomotiv rejected me I got the job at Brighton! So hopefully I can take them to the Prem sometime soon... probably not this season though. I picked up the job 21 games in, and their record was 1 win, 9 draws and 11 losses. Ouch. Still sitting in the drop zone but in my first game in charge I picked up a 2-1 away win at Leicester, who are a quality side. My squad is pretty shit and slow, three stars I think it is. Pales in comparison to my Sydney squad who had every single starting outfield player over 80 sprint speed and a four-star squad. But this feels like more of a challenge which is exactly what I wanted. LuaLua is a beast too!

There is an option called 'Goal News' I think where you have Team Management etc before we you enter the game.

Sweet, cheers mate. I saw that once or twice when I was playing A-League but nothing came up so I had no idea of its purpose.

Podolski is useless, might just be because he isnt fast/agile enough for my fast paced attacking style but I struggle with him unlless my wingers have set him up for a one touch shot. Neymar is an absolute frea cant even count how many times ive beaten 2 or more defenders from the corner and scored/assisted. Only 21 and rated 90 already.

maybe you've become too accustomed to a certain type of player? because podolski is far from useless

pretty happy with my team at the moment, 4 and a half stars but unfortunately it seems every time i get a striker rated 84+ he takes off with some top club for a packet of crisps and a paperclip

Yeah, the re-gens in Career Mode are ridiculously good this year. They used to just be 60 overall spuds that never improved much, but this year you can find 6'3 midfielders with 90 sprint speed and 5 star skill moves no worries. As someone said before, look in the free agents before the start of every season - you can usually find a few of these 19 year old, 70+ overall, high potential re-gens that can be sold 6 months later for 5 million+ profit each.

Or 2 gun CB's I sold for 50mil+ each after 2 years :D

Easy money! :)

can someone explain the loan players effect on game freezing (end of season)? I have seen people refer to it but dont quite understand how people got around it.

I gave up on my Liverpool save as it wont advance past the 30th before change of seasons (still have the save file though in case I can work out a solution). Now just playing a Bradford (league 2) save

if you have any players that you loaned in with the option to buy ignore them as everytime i accepted them it would freeze on the 30th.

mcuzzy podolski was good for me last year as i played him in the midfield but now that im playing him upfront he is just not fast enough to do well on the counter attack with Neymar and Muniain. Ive scored 1 goal with Podolski in 11 games and he only scored 6 last year as a CAM/CM/ST in 40~ appearances. He just doesn't fit the style ive set this arsenal team to play

I keep buying young players from Real Madrid B and Barcelona B. All of them turn out to be over 70
