Delete squads/online squad customization on your hard drive, it will re-download the squads and probably fix it.
 
I finally decided to start a season as Man Utd, (I usually go for lower teams and build them).

Only buy a couple of players during the first transfer market. More sending the kids away and bringing in some youth (Rodriguez and Oxlade) in Jan however,

Sell (but not on market) Rooney 99million, Kagawa 44million, De Gea 25million.

Buy: Neymar 35million, Benzema 27million, Neuer 30million, Hummels 20million and a bunch of 80+ rated players for depth.

Madness.

My mates and I decided that we're getting sick of playing each other with the same teams every time as we've used all the good teams and playing with shit teams is just shit. We started up a sort of draft thing, spent a solid 2 hours each taking turns and picking squads of 18 and now we've set up a league of our teams with full on awards, suspensions, trades and such.

Opening round I was down 4-0 in the first half, came back to 4-3 in the 80th minute and then got trounced 7-3. So much better than wasting time trading to get an extra 200 coins in order to get a pack which may or may not have someone good in it.

Still getting the "there was a problem with the online squad check' bug, it's getting beyond a joke. Every time i want to have a game online i have to first play an against thr cpu, quit after a few minutes, start another game against the cpu (then it downloads online squads), quit. Then i can play... :rolleyes:

Where did you do your table?

Me and my mates have one going in Excel.

What is your squad?
 
Yeah it happens to me a lot too. It usually just comes down to who can take their 1v1 chances. If you're good enough you'll win 90% of the time ;)

Yeah we've just got the basic table going on in excel as well.

We've only got 3 people in the league, but it still goes alright. To start off we're just doing a season of 10 fixtures against each opponent, but once we're done I reckon we'll switch to 2 teams each to get some variety going.

What settings is everyone using for shooting?
Assisted, Semi or Manual?

I tried using Manual and it's pretty hard, i think i need to hit the training field.

Default settings for everything (besides swapping RB and A for team mate contain).

Manual is a challenge and fun but you're disadvantaged vs assisted players.

It seems nearly everyone is using assisted in seasons, so i just switched back as well.

I'm getting real sick of this happening on the break away, it happens way to often.

Nothing makes me happier than when my opponent goes for the sweaty goal and my defender in the middle manages to intercept it. Or they somehow miss.

Although if the opportunities there I always take the jew goal.Why not, it's a game

These goals are so rare in division 1, I rarely get the chance to do a cutback goal and neither does my opponent.

Your defence probably needs improving.

Yeah without a doubt, the highest I've been so far is division 8 and I'm using Arsenal.
Is it worth completely rearranging my starting lineup?

First of all use Real Madrid if you want to win as many games as possible.

Play around with different formations as everyone has different playing styles. I use the 4-3-3 (Holding) formation with Casillas-Arbeloa-Ramos-Pepe-Marcelo-Khedira-Alonso-Ozil-Ronaldo-Benzema-Di Maria in the starting 11 and Essien-Modric-Callejon as subs at the 60th minute.

Try to pick a formation with at least 1 CDM as they protect your back 4.

I wouldn't bother with custom tactics or custom formations.

You shouldn't be pressuring with the player you're controlling. The key is marking the oppositions players off the ball and calling in a team mate to pressure.

Rarely should you be slide tackling... I probably use that button once a game.

And finally keep at it as you get better with experience. I was a div 5 quality player in FIFA 12 and now I'm in div 1 every season in FIFA 13.

Half your team is the exact same as one of my mates.

We keep track of all of those without the assists. We're also tallying the best 3 match ratings and assigning them votes just like the brownlow. Gonna get piss drunk and announce the winner at the end of the season
